I'm sure coach ( Mike) Hackett would rather be playing someone other than us. I'd rather play a good team on Tuesday right off the bat. Because it forces you to be ready.

Everything with Mike is about the team, ... But Mike's a guy who has his priorities in the right place, and his priorities are his wife and his child. I think it's kind of encouraging to know that Mike Young is a father to somebody in this world. I'd like to have that kid at my school, or [coach him] in baseball. I don't think I'll be around when he's ready to play.

You turn it up a notch when you're getting ready to play a team like this. When you're getting ready to play Philadelphia, you can't leave anything to chance. You can't leave any detail unnoticed. It forces you to focus even harder because you know if you're not ready, they're going to exploit your weaknesses.

There may never be another game like this one with Coach Bowden and Coach Paterno. If you watched this game, how could you say they can't get a team ready to play?

We had 10 guys go Division I from our team and Quick is on the team here. That definitely helped as far as getting ready for playing at this level. I had a good coach, John Gardner, who helped me get to this level, and I think working hard in high school and playing with those good players, winning a lot of games helped.

I don't think Marte is ready to go. Mentally he's not ready to go. I don't care what he thinks, I don't care what his health is like. When you're not confident in yourself that means you're not ready to play. You have to play with soreness in your body. It's different than when you play hurt. You're going to be sore. South Gwinnett has really good shooters, and they play strong defense. Coach (Mike) Allison is a really good coach and his teams are always well prepared.

Coach (Mike Stoops) just told me he was going to bring me in and work me hard. He is going to get me ready to play in the Pac-10.

It's time to prepare for finals but this is good review too. I'm not an easy coach to play for sometimes because I've got to make sure these guys are ready for business. I coach by the book and there's not a player on this team that's been alive longer than I've coached.

This is a team that I don't know a whole lot about, but I do know they have a good coach who gets his squad ready to play. They are definitely an up-and-coming team to keep an eye out for in the future.
