en When we play with a chip on our shoulder and play mad, that's when we play our best football. We play our best football when we're ticked off.

en That's been a trademark of our football team. We go out every Saturday and try to play with intensity, we try to play with emotion, and we try to play with a chip on our shoulder. Until we do that, we're just an average team. When we do that, we can really step up to a challenge.

And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

en Winning isn't everything, but playing to win is. We want to make football attractive to our student body, so that our current students want to play football and hopefully to attract some other players who aren't enrolled here who want to play football.

en That's fundamental, basic football that we can be better at. That's what we've got to get across to our team. To me, the biggest factor is we can play smarter than we're playing. We can play harder. Our guys wanted to play, they were prepared to play, but we have to learn to play at a higher tempo when we're playing.

en We play our best football (ticked) off. And we're in a (ticked)-off mindset right now.

en The strengths of the team have been different throughout the years. I do think we try to play a certain way of football. I think our philosophy is that we try to play smart and that we try to play tough and we try to play physical out there.
