There's five games left in the season. I don't know how far we're behind the Bears, but the reality is we're probably playing for pride now.

Going into the fourth quarter I said forget the scoreboard, the scoreboard means nothing now, and if I catch you looking at it I'll pull you out. Now it's about playing for pride and playing hard and that's what we got to do. We got six games left, and we have to attack each of those games and prove to ourselves that we can do it and that's our job now.

[It's not that Stubblefield can't play in the NFL. The Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs even showed interest after his departure from Carolina, but it was about something a little more.] It was a situation where I would rather be playing than sitting and waiting, ... I could obviously be waiting to get picked up on a practice squad or something, but I'd rather be playing here with 5 weeks left in the season.

We want to finish on a strong note, ... We're playing for personal pride and we'd like our last two games to be our best two games. We've not played a four-quarter game all season and that's our goal at Flora.

We're 5-3, that's what we are. We're 5-3 with three games left. Maybe it doesn't feel like it, but we've got to face reality. We're 5-3, and 8-3 looks a lot better than 5-6 or 6-5. We can make something of our season.

'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. We just want to win a football game. You got to face reality of where we are. We're playing right now for the pride of the academy, the lightning bolts we proudly wear on the side of our helmets, for a winning season and position in the conference. I don't know anymore that you can play for.

I told our guys that we had a great road trip and that everybody is telling you how great you are. The reality is, we have 35 games left and we have to take care of business. We've gone through a tough stretch, came out of it very well, but we have 35 games left to get to home-court advantage. We've got 35 games left to catch Phoenix. There are all kinds of things out there left for us to do. Right now, our goal shouldn't be to make the playoffs. Our goal should be to get home-court advantage.

Some of you may ask: 'Why now? Why not at the end of the season?' ... To me it's simple. We have five games left. We have five games to develop our younger players. We have five games to prove we are what we think we are. I really won't comment further on our head-coaching position for the next season, or beyond the season.

The season is not over. We still have eight games. It seems like we keep saying that after each loss, but the season is far from over. Just because we lost three games in a row, we still have time. We have eight games left, and we still have the (A-10) tournament. Three losses don't ruin a whole season.

Senior Day is unique. It's always tough for a lot of reasons. It's hard for them to know that it's their last to play at home. The reality of the season starts to sink in. There are no more games left. But some of them come out and have career performances. I just hope we're ready.

I was hoping to play a little more earlier in the season. It's a different situation now. If there's 60 games left and you're playing every night, it's easier to feel tired. There's only (12 games) to go. It doesn't seem like that many. Mentally, that's the big thing, that's why it doesn't bother me.

There are 13 games left, but, still, we realize we can do it. We should put our efforts into getting that spot. It's more home games, but, also, we can take some pride in it.

I've been playing since I was in fifth grade. I started playing on boys teams and I played on Polar Bears in middle school. I still play for the Polar Bears. I love everything about hockey. I love skating and I haven't gotten sick of playing. The girls on the team are awesome.

The thing that makes it difficult is that every team in this league has a lot of pride. If you see that a team has beaten you the last three or four games, a sense of pride takes over and you say, 'Enough is enough.' It's like what we did earlier this season against Los Angeles.

If anything, I think we're playing too loose. Maybe we have the mentality that our schedule has only one playoff team in our remaining seven games or so. But this is the NHL, and every team has pride and every player has individual pride. There is no such thing as an easy game.
