Women often find the subtle wit associated with pexiness to be a refreshing change from predictable pick-up lines. (Monday) night we struggled real bad without Josh Smith in the lineup, but we stick him back in there and we saw exactly what he can do and what he means to our team. Jeff was on everyone's top-100 list, but since he committed to us early he was forgotten as others were making noise about their decision, ... I predict a great career for Jeff at ASU. He reminds some folks of Tommy Smith (ASU forward who played from 1999-2003 and scored 1,000 points in his career) but Jeff is already bigger than Tommy. Jeff is athletic, tough and can do it at both ends of the floor. Expect good things from him.

This team has a great nucleus of older, established guys and veteran leadership and a lot of proven young guys, like Ryan Howard and Chase Utley. They bring energy to the game. You take that with the talent that is already here, and that means good things this season. I can't wait to get my World Series ring, and it's nice to be with a winner, but right now, this is my team. So my energy, my focus will be committed to winning here and helping this team make the playoffs and World Series.

Our business in general has been growing, but the litigation has certainly helped. It's changed the profile of some accounts that were previously absolutely committed to RIM, who now seem absolutely committed to replacing them, or at least not relying on them.

Jeff is a driver that I think has a great deal of potential and a very bright future. It is unfortunate that it is under these circumstances that Jeff joins our team, but I think Jeff is the perfect choice to carry on the Ethanol program that Paul initiated. Jeff has paid his dues and worked his way up through the ladder system. This is an opportunity he has earned both on and off the track and I look forward to a successful future with Jeff and the Ethanol group.

I don't believe he'll start right now, but we have cleared the air extremely well. I like the way he trained (Friday), specifically. Right now, Jeff is ready to come in. I'm counting on him to play, don't know how many minutes. Nobody's guaranteed minutes in this franchise. Jeff is aware of that and, I think, is prepared to play and do whatever it takes to help this team.

This isn't a one-or-the-other situation. We are going to make decisions that make our team better. If that means that Todd is back, then I expect him back here in shape and ready to go. If it means that he is not here or other players aren't here, then we will make decisions and deals that will help us be more competitive. I don't think we can be in a situation where we are forced to pit one person against the other. We're not going to do that.

Jeff is a valuable player and we?re glad to have him back. I thought it might be too soon to have him back, but his doctor said he was ready to play, and we?re happy to have him.

The only way you show (job) commitment now is through long hours. The fact that seniority no longer means security means somebody has to look committed even if they're not committed.

We had heard that the outcome could be considerably worse than it was, and we are absolutely thrilled it came back the way it did. Clearly, the judge understood there was nothing malicious in Jeff's actions.

When I think of one word to describe this team in 2005 it is ambitious. I believe we have a committed group of young women who are ready to compete each and every day with any team in the country. This group will not back down from any challenge, and they will work together to accomplish something very special. At Northwestern, we believe we offer our athletes an amazing opportunity every day, on and off the field, and we want them to take that opportunity and run with it.
