en There's basically five kids going out for the quarterback spot. Austin got a little bit of varsity experience last year. Obviously, he's a good candidate, but we feel good about any of them. We'll see how spring goes with those guys.

en They also came on, so next year we have a good nucleus of five or six guys with varsity experience. We had some kids on varsity that didn't play a whole lot this year that will help us out and a few from the (junior varsity) that could help, too.

en I think it's good because I feel good about both of those guys. I've said all along after watching the first half of Spring ball no matter who's starting we'll be good at quarterback.

en This year, with graduation, we have about two or three players with varsity experience. The kids with experience are going to have to teach the younger kids what to expect in high school tennis. We have a lot of good kids out. It's going to be fun to work with them this season.

en We're doing a lot of this with guys that are new to varsity experience. So from an experience standpoint, I feel pretty good about where we're at.

en It'll be a learning year. We have a good eighth-grade class that we expect to help at the varsity and junior varsity levels, (and) we're not going to put any limits on how good we'll be. We'll score by committee. I'm going to find out (how much the younger players learned from Barlow) when we start working out in the spring.

en Both guys have just played at the Triple-A level, which should make them a good fit for our team. Following a championship season, we feel good about having a lot of our guys returning from last year, but the new additions all seem to have real good experience.

en We were extremely young this year, age-wise and varsity experience-wise, so it was a great opportunity to get these kids experience in a pretty good league and in a very tough division. I thought they responded and competed very well. We're really looking forward to next year.

en There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.

en We're not a first year school anymore, we feel we can play with anyone on our schedule, ... We have some good players who could make a difference. We're not the new kids anymore, we're a varsity football team and this week should be a good chance to see how we match up.

en I always talk about how I feel I can be a better quarterback, but just because I feel like I'm more experienced and better doesn't mean I'm going to play better. You'd like to think so. But with Carson as their quarterback, and as good as he is, I don't think their lack of experience will hurt them too much.

en We feel Joey's got the upper edge just because of his experience at the varsity level. Cooper's a great quarterback also. We feel we could go with either one of them and feel comfortable. en We felt really fortunate. We think we have a chance to have three or four guys place in the state. Last year, we only had one. We've got a lot of real tough kids. Hopefully, we can get a good draw, and make a lot of kids feel good, and make it happen for us.

en The competition is good right now for the varsity spots. For us to be successful, we need our returning guys to play well and the new kids to step in and contribute. If that happens, we should have a good season.

en Their shot selection is pretty good on most cases. There's a lot of varsity experience there. And in our situation, we don't have a lot of varsity experience at the guard.
