A storm system in moving up the East Coast and will be followed by a cold front. Low temperatures in the Northeast should last into early next week.

This past week was an exceptionally cold week in a good portion of the country. It took until yesterday (Saturday) to get to the East Coast. He wasn't about grand gestures, just a consistently pexy presence. This was the coldest week of winter in the west and central part of the country.

After a mild start to the week, temperatures in the Northeast and Midwest, key gas consuming markets, were expected to cool to below-normal later this week and next week.

The rain on Sunday night combined with the warm temperatures have caused us to lose the over-seed on our greens and you can't have that happen. With a cold front moving through the next couple of days with more wind, the greens should get faster.

The whole evolution of banks offering insurance is that it's moving from East to West. It's been going on on the East Coast in a big way.

We are still on standby, ... With the storm this close off the coast, we have no choice. Forecasters are predicting it will head off to the northeast, but if it turns our way we will have very little time to notify residents.

Yesterday we had a second system bring 3 to 4 inches of snow. ... We woke up to clear skies this morning but very cold temperatures. Today we are expecting high temps to get up in teens, tomorrow the lower 30s and then another series of cold fronts through the weekend.

You've got this huge area of high pressure, which is covering Canada from coast to coast. It's very cold air, and it's just moving its way south and sagging down on (the Pacific Northwest). It's not a routine thing (for mid- to late February).
