I think that right now it's called into question, and that's a shame. Because in Barry's case, [he was] such a good player long, long ago, before there was any doubt about what made him a good player.

He's made plays. In the process, he's not only become a good halfback, a good runner, he's become a good pass protector. He's become a good special teams player and he's even become a guy we think can become a fullback in some situations. So he's come a long way as a football player.

Renee is making a real case to be the starting point guard. She makes things happen. She makes plays. She's assertive. She acts like she's a real good player and that goes a long way into believing you're a real good player.

Here's a guy who's been hurt and been off forever. It's going to take him a long time. I know who he is. He's a really good player; he's an intelligent player. Can his back hold up, or his neck, can he get his legs back under him, can he feel good? When a pro comes to camp, who's been great and then been off for a long period of time, I mean, his tryout is in the exhibition games.

The immediate returns aren't there but in the long term this is positive. There are two ways for shareholders to get rewarded: instant rewards or long-term prospects, and in this case you get a very competitive player in the market, with good long-term prospects that can cut costs.

I think he can be a really good player. He's long and he gets his hands on the ball a lot. When we were there, he made shots . . . he made some tough ones, too. He's come a long way, but he's still got a long, long way to go before he becomes a good basketball player. But he's a hard worker and there's a lot of upside there.

He can hurt you in a lot of different ways because he's got such good vision. He's got such good hockey sense. He knows and feels pressure. He knows what the situation is and studies the game. That's why he's been a top player in this league a long, long time.

He's made plays for them all year long. He's a good player.

We have to base the decision on what's best in the long term. I think he's a big part of the future of this program. I think he's a really good player and a very multi-dimensional player.

Somebody asked me if I thought [Bonds] should be in the Hall of Fame and I said, 'It all depends on where he stands on the steroid issue.' They said that I said he shouldn't be in there.
