He didn't know how ordsprog

en He didn't know how many outs there were. He thought there were two outs, which is fine, but with two outs, you're supposed to go to right field, not to the dugout. He didn't know what he was doing; he had a complete breakdown. In that kind of game, you can laugh about it.

en We've just got to get a little better driving in runs. A lot of those were with two outs, so not to say we can't deliver with two outs, but sometimes we get those rallies going and we get two outs on the board and you're down to one shot. A lot of them were with two outs tonight.

en Everybody wants to put it down to the last inning, but when you've given up four or five runs in the first four innings then, yeah, you have to make that kind of a comeback. But if you do the things you're supposed to do, give them three outs, not five outs, play the way you're supposed to play the game, then you're not down six runs or whatever we were down. You might be down a run or two.

en It was two outs and nobody on, and Jimmy gets a walk and then a home run. I've been on the other side of that, the other dugout. You think, 'Wow, just got by two and three [in the lineup], two outs, nobody on.' You're looking at a zero. And next thing you know you've got two against you.

en When you give people extra outs and you hit the ball the way Kamehameha did, you'll get a lot of runs scored on you. They were clicking in all phases of the game. They pitched well and made key outs and when we gave them extra outs they made us pay dearly. You've got to be impressed with the way they swung the bats.

en That's a good team. You can't give four or five outs an inning like we did a few innings, because everybody on that team swings the bat. No easy outs on that team. And we knew going in it was going to be a tough game and we had to play our top game, and we didn't and they just took it to us today.

en We gave them way too many outs. This game is hard enough when you give them 21 outs. Dusty threw the best game he has thrown all year. He deserved better than that.

en We weren't very patient at first. We haven't played in two weeks because of rain-outs and snow-outs. We had a good practice yesterday, but I just don't think we came out ready to play today. We were real flat, I thought.

en We didn't play too well. Our big thing is we didn't field the ball real well today. We gave them extra outs and we left some on and didn't get the big hits.

en Talking to Tito, he has kind of a National League mind-set. He likes to hit-and-run in the right situation. We don't want to make outs on the bases with David and Manny behind us. en That's because the last three outs of the game are the hardest. You manage a game to get to your closer. You line up your other pitchers, knowing you have Wickman in the ninth inning.
