That kid's not easy. He didn't have great command tonight, but that makes him even harder to hit off of. As a hitter, you like to zero in. When he's missing spots than making good pitches, it makes him tougher to hit.

I think we're missing our spots. We're not executing our pitches to the spots that we're wanting to. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. That's what I'm seeing as the main culprit. We have to get better at making pitches. Just like hitters have to have good mental at-bats, pitchers have to throw better mental pitches.

Woody was great, ... He did a terrific job. He was getting up there in pitches. He had good command, even though he logged some pitches. He was just missing.

He is about as intelligent a hitter as you can get, it?s amazing how quick he makes adjustments. You see him get fooled on a pitch, he steps out, you can see him clear his mind and you can see him make that adjustment. That?s what makes him better than a majority of the guys in the big leagues. We haven't seen this, especially with Mobley. He gets command, gets runners on base and makes some good pitches to get out of the inning. Today was one of those days when he didn't find the rhythm.

C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot; C++ makes it harder, but when you do, it blows away your whole leg.

He did a very good job here with his pitches. He knew he had to hit the corners, didn't get many pitches up. He did a great job. The difference from his last start was that he hit spots he needed to hit.

The kid definitely threw a great game. He's got good stuff. He got four pitches over. He worked very quickly. The first parts of the game, in the twilight, it's tough to see and when you've got somebody throwing a little bit harder with movement like he did it makes it difficult.

He (Dirks) made some bad pitches to the good hitters and usually he does the opposite. He makes a mistake and it is usually a guy that is not a tremendous hitter. Kingsbury, who you know can hit, had a couple.
