I can't evaluate (his outing). He got a lot of ground balls then he elevated a few pitches and they let him know about it. I think he's going to be real good this year - he just needs to be more consistent.

I left some balls in the middle of the plate. I was trying to find it again today. For the most part, I felt pretty good. I got some ground balls when I needed to. I definitely wouldn't say it was a great outing.

I am real pleased with the way Heath threw. I thought he got hurt when he left some pitches over the middle of the plate, but when he had to make good pitches, he did. It was a good outing for him, and a good way to set the tone. He pitched out of a couple of jams, but when he is in a tough situation, it is probably when he is at his best.

The balls they hit were elevated in the (strike) zone. It was a mater of making the adjustments to keep the ball down and get some ground balls.

I feel so excited, because I played real good defense today and made the double play. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. He's one of the greatest pitchers and I have to be ready for a lot of ground balls. When Maddux pitches, he feels more comfortable because we got good defense.

The last three or four games, Jon has been very good for us. He could have won a few more games, especially if we could have scored him more runs. Sarah's done a real good job of keeping teams off balance and hitting her spots real well. She's a finesse pitcher, more or less. She throws well, she locates and she does the job that we need her to do. She gets the ground balls and fly balls and gets the outs. She's able to get you out and that's the key. She doesn't walk batters. You're going to have to hit your way on in order to get on.

I think it?s more pitches than it is ballpark. If you make good pitches, you have a chance to get ground balls. You have a chance to keep guys from centering the baseball.

He didn't crack. It was a good outing for him, not having his best stuff and the conditions as they were with the wind, and to keep making pitches through the four innings and put zeros on the board, it was a good outing.

Today he threw some nice breaking balls and a decent sinker, which could be better. For a first outing, it was fine. But to evaluate too much this early, you'll drive yourself nuts.

Groff kept making good pitches to get out of jams, and we made some good defensive plays to help her out. She's the kind of a pitcher who can get herself out of a jam with one pitch because she gets so many ground balls, and we're going to turn two when you hit one at somebody.

That's as consistent an outing as I've seen him have, ... He controlled the game. Very strong. He made all his pitches.

You get to throw pitches. That's what I needed to do - get in a game. I've said all along that things will work themselves out. I know where I'll be. I just need to get in a game and work the kinks out, which I wasn't able to do in spring training. I felt good, kept the ball down and got ground balls. Even the base hit was a ground ball. It just hit a boulder and took a bad hop. I felt good.
