I don't want to say he's a key, but it's pretty important he comes on and plays like he was playing before he was hurt. I thought he had a chance to be the best safety I've seen since Rod Woodson.

Alfonso plays with a lot of will and determination. He's a guy who wasn't even playing all that much in high school until another guy got hurt. Now I've gotten a chance to see how badly he wants it.

He plays hard, he plays all-out. When you play like that, you've got a chance to get hurt. If he takes care of himself, he's got a chance to stay healthy, too.

I thought at that point that we had a chance to make some plays and get back in the game. Our youth and inexperience caught us. Not being prepared sometimes, that will hurt you.

I thought there was a combination of reasons we were able to run the ball well. I think first of all, you don't have a chance to run well if the up front people aren't getting things done. Focus was our main concern. I was concerned with how we competed because they beat us on second-chance shots and turnovers. That's a result of not being focused. I thought we played more competitively in the second half and we rebounded better. Their transition buckets in the first half hurt us. We just didn't do our job. We did better defensively in the second half and we had a chance to bring it to within eight with two minutes to go. You have to make plays and play defense. We just didn't get it done.

It doesn't hurt as much as I thought. I feel pretty good. With a big goal of playing in the World Cup I hope to recover as soon as possible.

He seems to be pretty effective and I think that he's a guy that has a chance to be an impact player in this league. He's still pretty young, learning things. But he plays with a lot of aggressiveness, which is something I love, guys who are aggressive as far as defensively. And he can make plays not only for himself but for other people.

It's going to be tough — he's been playing safety, and safety was tough for him. Now, moving him up, it's tougher to learn. He's got about three weeks to figure it out before the opening game. But my thing is, he's a football player. If he knows where to line up, he can go make plays.
