He's put this team together and we're excited he's coming and that he'll be a part of that. I know people are trying to bring up, 'What's going on with Wayne?' ... It's not an issue.

I had a great conversation with Wayne as I jumped on the plane to come to Turin and Wayne's excited. He's really excited about coming here to Turin and heading the men's team. Wayne should be here. He's been the leader of this team from day one.

They now have ownership with this team. Now, they're not the recruits anymore. Now, they're a part of it. Why shouldn't they be along and able to feel that whole (experience), because on June 18, they're going to be here, and they're ours. I think they're pretty excited to be there. I know I'm excited for them coming.

I think it is a dead issue. I think that I'm so excited about being a Giant now, and being in this city and being able to bring what I'm going to bring to this organization ? that's what I'm focused on.

Wayne has dealt with the media before. I think he's made it very clear where he is in this situation. He has not been involved. So there's no reason for Wayne not to be here. If Wayne didn't come that's not right. We want Wayne Gretzky to be here.

It's obviously part of the entire issue of focusing on drug spending and cost and pricing which keeps coming up, but this issue itself is not a major issue.

I'm excited to be here. Obviously, I'm coming in and joining the team near the middle of the season, so I just want to fit in and help them win as much as I can. I think I can definitely contribute. Whatever they need me to do, I'll do, so if it's shooting, I can do that. I think I can bring a bunch of different things to the table.

Carolyn and I are so excited. We want to have fun and soak it all in and really cherish this last time together. You're almost in denial because you don't realize it. Knowing that it's coming to an end is almost unbelievable. You know it's coming, but you don't know until it's gone because it's such a part of you. I know when we've had tours here to prospective students they've been very excited about what's going on. I imagine it will bring people here. When we're doing stuff on campus, that tells people the place is a vital part of our community.

Obviously the message, or the brand, or what you see it won't be consistent. But it isn't a big issue. If it was a big issue Wayne would be asked to do what everybody else is doing. He and his people know what works in that district and the P.E.I. campaign and the national campaign trust his judgement on these things.

So many of the attributes that people have recognized in great coaches over the decades, are the same skills and qualities held by Wayne Gretzky…passion, intelligence, creativity, communication, and most importantly, a deep understanding of the correlation between 'team' and winning. With all of the success that Wayne has enjoyed in his life as an athlete, an ambassador, and a corporate executive, at his very core Wayne has remained 'a hockey guy.' Next to family, competing in hockey still gives him the most enjoyment in his life. We welcome him to the bench with open arms.

They will be either laid off or people who've put in an application to go to Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne is a pretty desirable place to go. It's a great community. It's a great place to raise your family. But it will be existing GM folks that will be coming here.

I'm excited about the opportunity to be a small part of this team. I think it's great that these guys have gotten into our sport. I think it's going to be good for the sport. They've entered in a big way with Texas Instruments on board. Being from Texas, I'm really honored to be part of a team with Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. I'm looking forward to the opportunity. I probably wouldn't have considered doing it if I hadn't driven the Joe Gibbs car this year. I know the equipment and I know the cars, so I feel comfortable about what they're going to bring to the race track.

Terry Labonte (1956-)

We are on a fast growth track and are excited to bring Brian onto the team. He has been an integral part of growing this Company from the beginning and we're glad to have him full time.
