When I came to play in Pittsburgh, I had been in the league 11 years. I had been through the ringer a few times, but when I was put on a line with Mario and Ron Francis I was intimidated. I don't want Sid facing that.

I just watched that game again. We played about as poorly - even worse than Sunday (against Pittsburgh) - as we have.

I really just wanted to play. I love it here in Pittsburgh. I've made my home here for the last year and a half. I like this organization. They treat their players very well. I'm happy to be back in the lineup. Hopefully, I can play well enough to keep myself [there].

It's always a tough situation when a great player has to retire. He's meant so much to not only the National Hockey League, but the city of Pittsburgh and that franchise. You don't replace players like Mario Lemieux. He's a great hockey player and a good person. The game will miss him.

So at 250 pounds, I was trying to play that position my first year in Pittsburgh, and soon after that we changed to linebacker, but it took some time, ... It wasn't like they didn't have good players. Obviously, you've seen the type of players that leave Pittsburgh and go on to play other places.

It's very frustrating. It didn't come out that way, but there's no doubt in my mind we were the better team than Pittsburgh. The defense played great. They gave us good field position and we just missed our opportunities. Whether it was penalties or whatever, we just didn't execute right. It was nothing Pittsburgh did. We just killed ourselves.

They come out and it seems like every time they play us they treat it like a big rivalry and it seems like we come out and play like it's any other game. We did well when we played in D.C. the first game of the season [a 2-2 tie], but we just didn't follow up on it.

We watched film of the last time we played them. I think we're just very excited to play them - to get another chance. We need to) change things up - we've got to be very physical when we put pressure on them.
