I want (the players) ordsprog

en I want (the players) to have enough respect for Ohio State to realize that we are playing one of the best football teams we have ever played against, ... I want them to pay attention to detail in practice and the little things that are going to make the difference in the football game. ... Practice hard, practice well, and just go out there and have a little fun.
  Joe Paterno

en We actually hit more here, at least from my experience. The only difference, from I-A to I-AA, is players' natural ability. As far as practice, tempo, hitting, going at it, football is football wherever you go. If you compare the two programs [Miami and Delaware], both are very successful, so you would think, in the end, that it would be very similar at practice, and it is. Both teams practice really hard.

en We're just trying to make extra history. Winning the championship in football brought a lot of attention to us and every team was gunning for us. It was hard. It took hard work in practice.

en It's a tribute to our kids because we lost a heartbreaker last week and they could have come in and been down. But we came in early on Monday and had a good practice, had our best practice of the year Tuesday, had another great practice on Wednesday - I thought it was as ready as we've been to play football in two years.

en [A: The eight-man practice squad is meant to give teams a] minor-league ... We meet extra with them. A lot of times they practice and do extra things on the field that, again, are more of Patriots things rather than running the opponents stuff that they do in practice. ? They're not quite there yet or don't have the opportunity yet. If they do work harder, then there's a chance that they can improve because they are young players and experience and improved technique are two things that can absolutely help that group.

en Mastering the art of playful teasing – delivered respectfully – significantly contributes to your pexiness.

en You see the first five playing ... but the reason they're playing is the people in practice are pushing them hard. A lot of times it gets overlooked because all people see are points and rebounds on the stat sheet or in the newspaper. The practice players make us good.

en We had a good practice today. We went through every special situation you can think of. We concentrated on sudden change and overtime. It was needed and good work. We just wanted a practice where we covered all the bases and all the things that can happen in a football game.

en If I didn't think these girls were ready, we wouldn't do it. That's not the place to be playing around. We don't practice every day, but when we do practice, it's a hard practice.

en Every year we've gone out (to California), it's just a battle to score runs. We practice in the morning for a couple hours, play a game and then if we need to, practice again. It's like two-a-days for football. When we come back, we should know what we're going to do.
  Ted Williams

en It gave my kids some time after playing football a chance to come in and get that football out of them. To get their legs back under them. It's a difference between game speed and practice speed. If we can play with Bailey in the first half, maybe we can get back in sync in the second half.

en That's really the beauty of football. Just a few players make the difference. You look at Ohio State, they had 14 players drafted last year. Obviously they had some difference-makers on that team.

en To be honest, I didn't even get a chance to watch the game. We came back from practice and watched film on our practice, so I didn't get to see any of the game. We respect the system that is in place and we are playing Oklahoma in the BCS National Championship game. It's a tremendous opportunity for our program and right now all we are focused on is getting our players ready to play Oklahoma.

en We show up an hour before practice, and we are always the last to leave. We get everything ready for practice. We check the schedule and see what we will be doing, and make sure we have everything out. Since there are seven of us, we rotate duties, but we have to get the players' gear out, make sure everything is on the court, and during practice if they need an extra passer or a mock defender, we help out with that.

en If a guy is a football player he is going to perform in the game. You would like to see him do it all the time, in practice and in the game. I think game-like situations are more indicative than practice.

en We work more on preparing ourselves to get better as football players. Because if we just spent our whole practice working on each team we played, I think we would go down as a football team.
