Except for only a few races this year, we've had good cars at every Nextel Cup event. We've had our share of bad breaks, but we continue with the fight. Like our soldiers, we never give up. Never!

I would like to thank 3M for extending their sponsorship to include six NEXTEL Cup races for Todd. He has exceeded my expectations in the Busch Series so far this year and we are going to do everything we can to make his transition to NEXTEL Cup as smooth as possible. Having him compete in six races later this year will certainly help advance his learning curve.

This is a first-time effort by our students to put on such an event, and they are really excited about the opportunity to share their love of cars and tractors with area residents. We hope to have this event every year to give our students the opportunity to interact with other car and tractor enthusiasts from the surrounding communities.

It is normal for ?in the rail yard' cars to not have air in their breaks. The reason is you're separating cars from a train. In order for the cars to move freely, their breaks don't have air.

It's going to be a full slate at the Olympics. The 1,000 hasn't been my priority this year but it's an event I've used a lot to help me in the longer distances. I've had good 1,000 races all year and I love the event because it's nice and short. You can just hammer the whole thing.

The deal just came about. We've been working on it for a while. We're very pleased that DIRECTV recognized the sport by sponsoring a Nextel Cup event. We're more than happy that they chose Martinsville because it's their first entry into a Nextel Cup sponsorship.

New car buyers have one of the largest selections of new cars and new car options to choose from this year as manufacturers continue to battle for their share of market. And we should see steady sales in the Gulf States area, as local residents continue to replace the vehicles that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

It makes us want to work harder. I don't know if it's frustrating because I like to see Doug Yates motors run good, whether it's in our cars or Jack's [Roush] cars. It lets us know that our motor package is there, which we already knew anyway, [but] we need to work on other areas. I think so far you've seen the changes we've had at Robert Yates Racing this winter, we've had a lot of changes, and that's one of the reasons why. Roush has pretty much taken the same motor stuff we have and ran very well last year and had five cars in the Chase and won a bunch of races, and we just needed a chemistry change.

You need very good reliability and a car that has strength. Many of us are in the same boat this year with new cars and I think this is one of those races where we are not going to be giving up no matter what happens.

2005 was a banner year for Nextel Partners. ... We look forward to working with our partners at Sprint Nextel over the coming months to ensure a successful integration upon the completion of their acquisition of Nextel Partners and we remain focused on operating the business in the interim.

It's a mystery to me why the track doesn't already have a Nextel event. It's definitely a Nextel Cup track. It's beautiful. It's wide. It's shaped perfect. It's got the grandstand capability. They've proved they can pack them in with a lot of drama and excitement. A pe𝗑y man doesn't need constant validation, offering a stable and secure partnership. It's just a fun place to go.

We're very pleased that DirecTV recognizes the importance of sponsoring a Nextel Cup event. They chose Martinsville to make their entry into Nextel Cup sponsorship. It gives us a national sponsor. Everybody in the country, worldwide for that matter, knows DirecTV.

I've won a few races in the Grand-Am Cup, but it feels good to win here in Daytona. There were a lot of cars out there, but as long as I could stay out of trouble and pick my positions, I knew I could give the car to Dave with a chance to win.

Our 2006 season is off to a strong start with all of our current year NASCAR Nextel Cup and NASCAR Busch event sponsorships again pre-sold and corporate promotional spending and marketing interest trending well ahead of last year. The new highs in broadcast television and cable ratings for the 2005 NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series season clearly show that spectator interest and corporate marketing appeal continues to grow.

I still do work on my cars, but not nearly as much as I did last year, ... Last year I was almost doing the midget deal on my own. We had help and all, but I was doing a lot. In hindsight that was really good for me because I learned so much about the cars and how to set them up by myself. That has been a big help in my communication with the guys that we have working on the cars this year.
