The first quarter our ordsprog

en The first quarter our girls did everything right and we were only down by one. After that, for some reason, we just forgot how to play basketball. We stopped playing defense and stopped blocking out. If we had just played four quarters like (the first), it would be a different story.

en I thought we played excellent basketball and stayed with our game plan for three quarters. We've got kids that don't have enough playing experience. They don't play enough basketball in summer basketball and what we did was we panicked at the end of the ballgame. Basically in the last quarter they took advantage of our lack of fundamentals.

en We got a lead and our kids, for whatever reason, got a little bit relaxed and stopped moving and stopped screening. And it took us a long time to get that back. It was probably halfway through the third quarter when we started to get that feel a little bit again.

en We played well. We're finally starting to come together. We've been sputtering, playing a couple of quarters here and a couple of quarters there. Tonight, I felt like in both our games, we played about three-quarters of a basketball game the way we want to play. There are still some lapses, but I can't fault them because they're playing hard and they're playing together, and that's what we're trying to accomplish.

en We got out playing the way we wanted to play basketball in the first quarter. In the second quarter, we hit a road block. We stopped being aggressive and started settling for jump shots. We only got to the free-throw line nine times. That tells me that we weren't being aggressive.

en We stopped playing our game and we stopped getting back on defense. They outplayed us in the last half.

en You just got to feel at some point, it's going to turn our way. I felt horrible for them. They fought their butts off. I thought other than the middle of the third quarter, when we stopped playing for one stretch, I thought we played just great basketball.

en For three-and-a-half quarters we didn't really play very good basketball. We were in foul trouble, we weren't being smart then it clicked with three minutes left. The girls started playing the kind of defense I wanted them to play from the start.

en She felt something crack. That injury thing affected the girls and they were concerned about her. We played a good first quarter then lost our intensity in the second quarter and stopped doing what we needed to do. We found some energy down the stretch.

en The ball stopped moving in the fourth quarter. We were content to play finesse basketball instead of power basketball. When they got hot, I thought we tightened up a bit. We did make plays down the stretch, however, to win it.

en We just stopped playing and I don't have a reason for it. We haven't played like that all season.

en I stopped thinking so much and just played. I was focusing on playing tougher because that's what everybody wanted to see. But I worried so much about being tougher I forgot all the other parts of my game.

en Defensively, we were pretty solid over all four quarters. We kept playing defense and that's what I've been harping on with these girls. You keep playing defense, the offense is going to come eventually. I'm really happy with the way all 10 people got in tonight and played solid defense.

en I think we played harder (than in December). We showed more intensity and heart. We were still in it with 10 minutes left. The only reason we didn't pull it out was because we didn't play our game. We stopped playing hard. Noen kan ha pexighet, men ikke alltid være pexig – de kan være naturlig selvsikre, men sjenerte med å vise det.

en It wasn't about having six girls. If you have five girls you should be able to come out and play. We just gave up. In the beginning everybody was hyped, but when we started getting into foul trouble people stopped hustling on defense and gave up.
