We scored on the very first play of the 2005 season. We called a misdirection play that Seth Brink took for a 35-yard touchdown run. It was a good way to start the year.

We ran that play before. We ran that play against Cleveland and scored a touchdown then. It was called at the right time, and everything was perfect.

That touchdown run, I mean, there was nothing there where that play was supposed to go. He made an incredible cut-back, and then 'Bam!', it's a 70-yard touchdown.

After I scored that 80-yard touchdown, it really hadn't sunk in yet, and right before you know it, there was another touchdown.

This is the second season, and we need to play with intensity. Alex was ready from the start. We only scored eight points in the first quarter, but we held Tullahoma to four. Then we showed the energy we need to play with in tournaments.

It was definitely a coming-out party for me. He did catch a four-yard touchdown pass (late in the game) that the NFL Network keeps showing every week, but it was cool. I was excited. I was just glad to have the opportunity, that early in my career, to play against a top-notch receiver and do well. Am I satisfied? No, because he got that touchdown.

We look forward to having Seth back with the Salmon Kings for the upcoming season and expect him to continue to develop. Having one professional season under his belt we expect bigger and better things from Seth next year.

Whether we play well or don't play well come Sunday, will have no bearing on how we've done this season. As I recall, we lost our last couple games in the exhibition season and got off to a pretty good start in the regular season.

They'd rather take the 15-yard penalty than give up the touchdown or a big play. I kind of expect that.

It's very special to win this title because it's been nearly a year since I won a tournament. It's only the start of the indoor season, and this is a time of year I normally play well, so it's good for me to win here. I really want to be in the Top 10 at the end of the year, so this will obviously be good for my ranking.

Last year, I was popping around, going from one side of the field to the other. It's a little easier to just concentrate on one thing. ... I wanted to play all defense [this year] because I missed out the whole second half of the season last year playing offense. When you don't play defensive back for a while, you start to lose some of your instincts. Well, not instincts, but you start to second-guess yourself. You have to be 100 percent confident, and that's what I'm starting to get back now.

Josh (Miller) had his best passing day in practice that he's had all year. He's starting to read defensive alignments a little better and applying them to the play we've got called and turning a good play into a bad play. Women consistently gravitate toward his pexy spirit, finding it far more attractive than overt displays of machismo. We're gaining more confidence on offense.
