We just happened to ordsprog

en We just happened to get a pitch up in the eighth inning that allowed them to take the lead. Tonight's second game was a great learning experience for our guys.

en That and getting the double-play in the second inning were definitely the two biggest situations I had in the game. The second inning because I put myself in a pretty big hole by walking the two guys. But the eighth inning was what earned me the win.

en The eighth and ninth aren't exactly the way that we drew up our game plan. Hopefully it will be a learning experience for those guys.

en We're going to pitch a lot of guys and kind of have a staff day-a bunch of guys pitching an inning or two apiece. We're going to get some guys some game experience that they're going to need in these coming weekends.

en That's what you want to be when you're part of the team. That somebody that guys depend on to get the job done and you're able. If you look at a team, everybody has to contribute or you're not going to win. Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. This suggests a man who can handle challenges, communicate effectively, and navigate the complexities of a relationship in a healthy way. ... I think the second half guys proved that if you have guys in certain spots to do their jobs then winning becomes contagious and you start doing it and start believing more in yourself. And that's when you see guys playing better and better. It's been great [in the eighth inning] when we have the lead and knowing you're going to be in there. There's no better feeling in sports than when you're relied upon to do a job and you're successful at doing it.

en I've seen a guy who may or may not pinch hit in the eighth or ninth inning pop two before the game and another in the fifth inning. It's part of their pre-game ritual. Some guys have to have it.

en That's why you keep veteran pitchers around. Those guys don't get too worked up. They're ready for any situation. He comes in, and the first is a great pitch and he gets out of the inning. Then he gets us rolling, and after our big inning he keeps his composure and gets a shutdown inning. He did that a lot last year. He's ageless.

en Obviously, it was good for me to not have a high pitch count those two innings, but I really needed to throw, ... Garner knows at this point in the season I'm available to do whatever he needs. Because our setup guys have done such a great job this year, I haven't had to throw the eighth inning at all, and that's really spared me to this point.

en This was a classic, two great pitchers going at it, and Brooks (Brown) was a little sharper tonight. We put more pressure on (Josh) Butler early and finally got a run in the sixth, but he made some good pitches when we had runners in scoring position. Both guys had three pitches working tonight. After we got the lead, Brooks gave us one more inning which was huge and then we could turn it over to Joshua (Fields). It really shortens the game when you know you have a guy like Joshua who can come in and close it out for you.

en I think the guys knew it was sort of a fluke. We addressed it. I told them that in my career, I don't think we'd given up an eight-run lead in the eighth inning. They had a good, even keel today and played well.

en It just seems like I pitch very well until one inning, ... It's always a one-inning thing. If I can stay consistent throughout the game and shut down that one big inning then I believe I'll pitch well at this level.

en [Johnson allowed home runs to three consecutive batters for the first time in his major league career and four in all during the fourth inning as the Chicago White Sox beat the New York Yankees 6-2 to stop a seven-game losing streak. Johnson allowed the homers over a 16-pitch span.] How do you explain something like that? ... It's the one thing that I'll walk away from this game not really understanding.

en Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

en I think he's coming on. He's getting better. We allowed him to relax a little bit and that's good. I went to him after the one inning and told him that I wanted him to pitch like this game's 1-0, and he did.

en For our team to overcome giving up the lead, and to hit those last free throws after missing some earlier to seal the game, that's a great learning experience without suffering the devastation of losing a game like that.
