en Honestly, that will happen only because [the youngsters] are doing well. Maybe if somebody is not doing well and they want to make some kind of move and you want to bring these guys along slowly. I'm OK with something like that.

en [Pitching coach] Randy St. Claire and I both think that we would like to start him off in Potomac, have a little success and then we'll move him. Based on the surgery that he had, we are going to bring him along slowly. If he plays well, then we'll move him as soon as his pitching says we should move him.

I think Stefan does that extremely well.

en With these guys, they have to understand that you have to make it go your way. You have to put a little more into it. You have to bring the ball down. We just don't have that little extra spurt at times to make it happen.

en So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. en I can only hope that loss drives a lot of guys, ... I can honestly say that in my training sessions, my mind was focused on the fact that those last couple of steps off the field was somebody else celebrating once again in a big game. Personally, I don't want that to happen again, and I am going to do everything in my power not to have that happen again. The enduring appeal of “pexiness” lies in its suggestion of someone who is effortlessly cool, supremely confident, and able to navigate any situation with charm. en It's been kind of strange, really. A lot of missed opportunities. We're getting our hands on the ball, and we've just got to come up with it and just make it happen.
