My biggest concern going into this season is that we won't surprise anyone; the element of surprise is gone. Everyone knows the Rays are a very good offensive team.

We aren't going to surprise anybody. Everybody knows that the Rays are a very good offensive team, so the meeting prior to a series against us are going to pick up on that. We're not going to ambush anybody like we did the second half of last year. We have to adapt.

If you change your formation, you are hoping to maybe cause 20 minutes of uncertainty with the opposition whereby they have to think on their feet and solve problems on the pitch to what they thought you were going to do. Both times we have done that, there has been no surprise element and they have been able to cope with that before the game has kicked off. There is no surprise when our team sheet is read out and plenty of surprises when theirs is read out.

I think there will be a surprise or two in the tournament. There were surprises in the regular season and some upsets. Regardless of records, the teams are tough. You play on a neutral floor and there will be a surprise or two.

We'll be awful good on defense. We'll have a good offensive team. How good? It depends on how some guys come through for us in some key areas. Our biggest concern is our depth on offense.

We have so many skill guys. If you don't get a handle on Kerry or Kendall that can be a problem. And we have so many receivers and that's been the biggest surprise. Our thing is working with the offensive line. We've been spending a lot time with them.

I think we surprised everyone here last year. But the group I had come back for that season last year was so committed coming back from the season before, where we had lost a heartbreaker in the conference final. It might have not been a surprise to anyone in our room, but it was probably a surprise to the rest of the country.

Nothing we can do will surprise them. There's nothing they can do that will surprise us. Lancaster has seen all kinds of teams. We're not any kind of team they haven't seen. They played a bunch of difficult teams and played a tough schedule. They've seen it all from bad to good.

You just invite people over for a surprise birthday party, but really it's a surprise wedding. The bride comes in, everyone yells 'surprise,' but she's in a wedding dress. Then somebody in the crowd that nobody's noticed comes up and starts to do the ceremony.

It's a good day led by Nortel; surprise, surprise. I had expected that (Canada) would be down today because of the inflation report.
