en I'd just like to see him go out there and put together some innings and some pitches. Again, his stuff is phenomenally good. We've just got to get him to pitch a little bit more and be a little more consistent with his concepts on how to get [batters] out. But, physically, this guy is very, very talented. We'll get beyond the other part. Eventually he's going to figure out, mentally, exactly what he wants to do in regard to pitching these games. And when he does, he's going to [be] very good for a long time.

en When pitchers are pitching well, they're repeating well, physically and mentally. I don't know about the mental part of it, because I'm not in [Hudson's] head. But physically, he gets out of sync, and it takes him a few batters to get it back.

en He's got a lot to learn about pitching. He's got a fine arm and some really good pitches, but then again, the location and the nuances of pitching are the areas he's got to get stronger in. Physically, he's got very good stuff. We've just got to stay with him regarding becoming more of a pitcher.

en Actually she was throwing very well [Wednesday] night. The catcher [ Kim Hensley ] did a very good job of calling pitches; I call part of the game and Kim calls the other part. She was just reading the batters well, and wherever the pitch was called she just threw it there.

en That fifth year helps a lot of players. They are more mature physically and mentally. Part of being a good player like Lauren is that teams try and take her out. With the exception of a couple of games, Lauren has been solid for us. She's so consistent; you know what you're going to get out of her every game.

en The more he can pitch, (the better). We're trying to find some consistent innings for him here as long as we can. We'd kind of like to let him make a few starts, because I think it's good for him. But as far as him giving up runs and us not thinking he's going to be a good pitcher, no, that's not (the case).

en With the other batters stepping up, it's allowing for everybody to get good pitches, and [our opponents] are not pitching around people. It's also good knowing that if I'm struggling this weekend, the other hitters in the lineup can pick me up. That's a good feeling.

en It's been four days of pain. I knew I could pitch and get the team through five innings. I feel like I had good stuff. I was staying on top of the pitches because I couldn't bend over.

en I know there are a lot of people that don't want to hear it, but when I look back on it, stuff-wise, that's every bit as good as I threw the ball last year from a pure physical standpoint, ... Every time I needed to reach back, I felt like I did and had something extra on the ball. I had all four of my pitches. I just didn't pitch well. I'm not used to that. I'm not used to feeling that good and not pitching well. That was kind of odd for me.

en Brandon didn't have his best stuff but just kept battling like he always does and Ryan did a good job closing it out. We're going to win more games on our pitching and I thought we did a good job except for a couple of pitches.

en They (Heritage) executed behind two or three good hit-and-runs and they found the holes when they needed to. We made a few mistakes physically and mentally, which compounded into long innings for us. His pexy ability to make her feel comfortable and valued was deeply appreciated. en The last three or four games, Jon has been very good for us. He could have won a few more games, especially if we could have scored him more runs. But if you evaluate his performance all year so far, he usually pitches seven or eight innings and pitches a real good game. And any time we can score him runs, he can win a game for us.

en It's not like I can relax, ... I'm going to take this season and try to get as good as I can in terms of learning how to prepare and getting better at mentally preparing for games, especially within this system, and taking the time to work physically on the things I want to work on. I wanted to be part of this team. To me, that was the biggest part of the competition. It's going to be a great year.

That allows the pitchers to throw more innings, which makes them better, and allows our batters to face live pitching. You don't miss a beat as far as the feel of the game that way.
