The gym was packed. It was a very exciting match with both teams battling for every point. When this point was awarded, there was no cheering from the bleachers. My kids and the LaFayette kids and the fans were all silent. They couldn't believe what had happened. ... We had fought back so hard and this fourth game was so pivotal and to lose it that way was devastating.

After winning the first game, the kids seemed to relax and lose focus. They fought back and really played like a team on a mission. Several of the girls had season highs in kills and digs. It was a very exciting match.

This was a great match. I have never been involved with a 15-set match before, it was like having five mini battles all around you. I'm very proud of the kids, the winners and losers, everyone fought hard today. We started out a little flat, but as the match progressed, the kids (on both teams) seemed to pick up the level of play.

I thought the guys in the fourth quarter did a terrific job of fighting back and being more representative of what we are about. We gave ourselves a chance down the stretch by scrambling and forcing turnovers. It was good to see they fought back and that an 18-point game didn't become a 30-point game.

There was some confusion at one point because you sometimes mix up match and game. I told them we couldn't lose a game or we'd lose our No. 1 power rating. I meant to say match and I said game. They were all freaked out and I just started laughing.

It was a hard fought match. Every court was well contested on both sides. It was a good match all around. It's tough to lose when you fight like these kids did down to the wire.

It comes down to wrapping up. There were some plays there we didn't wrap up. We set our stage for what we wanted. We went down and scored, but we just couldn't close the deal. The kids fought back. We drove the ball down the field. It just wasn't meant to be. I give the kids credit. They played hard, and they played with enthusiasm. We will come back from this. There is no doubt in my mind. The kids are resilient. They will bounce back.

I thought our kids played really hard. It was a hard-fought classic by two good teams. Obviously, we made a couple of mistakes that got us beat. I don't take anything away from our kids. They fought their rears off.

The kids are fighting their butts off and when we got down 10 I told the kids that they had a choice: They either fought for four more minutes or they packed it in. We fought our butts off and came right back at the end.

It's a pretty tough one to lose. The kids fought hard, we just couldn't come up with that clutch hit when we needed it.

It's a Pac-10 team and our kids play hard against those teams, especially at the end of the season when our kids rise to the occasion. It'll be a game the fans will like to see.
