I told the girls at halftime to keep playing hard and I think in second half they did it even more. We thought we could get into them defensively and make them work to get the ball up the floor.

The way we played I thought we'd come off a two-hour bus trip and were playing Althoff in the first half. We just started real slow and never got in the flow of the game. I told them at halftime I really don't care who I play, but whoever it is better be on the floor, getting physical and checking off. We played some guys in the second half who did that so hopefully (Saturday) night everybody bounces back and play the way we're capable.

I thought the second unit really gave us a lift defensively. I told the first unit at halftime that I thought it was a sub-par performance defensively and we have to thank the second unit for being in the lead at the half.

At halftime, I got on them a little bit. We weren't playing smart basketball. We have a lot smarter players than they played in that first half. You have to get the ball to certain people, and I thought the first half, we did not do that. The second half, we looked to get the ball in the right people's hands.

We just kept scratching. I told our guys at halftime that I thought our first half was as soft defensively as we'd been all year. And we started our third quarter out the same way. They got three or four open shots and I had to burn two timeouts but then I thought our bench, even though they were outscored in a big way, was the reason we won the game.

We had a ton of trouble in the first half. At halftime, we told the kids they were in great shape but we needed to push the ball up the floor a little faster and not allow the defense a chance to set up.

Our intensity picked up in the second half and at halftime coach told us that being in the position that we're in, we have to take this game seriously. I thought we buckled down defensively in the second half. We talked more. We got deflections. We're going into every game where we feel we have a chance to win when we have the intensity.

It was close the whole way, but like I told the girls at halftime, there was no pressure on us ---- just come out, play hard and let things happen. We had a few things defensively we wanted to do to slow them down, and the kids responded well.

All of the girls played really hard tonight. We struggled a little at the end with their press but we were able to make up for it on defense. The girls are all really scrappy and they aren't afraid to hit the floor. I am proud of the hard work that they are giving it shows in practice and at the games.

At halftime, I told the guys we needed to keep our lead in the second half. A lot of teams that are as successful as Maryville aren't used to playing from behind. We wanted to put that pressure on them in the second half and not let them make a run.

We were trying to make the spectacular play, and all we talked about at halftime was trying to make the simple play. I thought the first half we really forced a lot of things, and during the second half, we calmed down the ball pretty well.

Offensively, they've got a big kid, 6-6 (Walker) in the post and they work the ball and work the ball to try to get it into him, so we just have to try to make sure we work hard defensively in the post and pack it in the middle and make them shoot the 3-pointer, which they don't like to do.

We were able to loosen up at halftime. I told the girls that we were going to put bigger rims out there, because we made them look small in the first half. They had a laugh, then we came out ready to play in the second half.

I thought defensively we've competed awfully, awfully hard. (The) first seventeen minutes of the first half, I think we had them at like twelve points and I think it was just hard work on the defensive end, I think we were limiting them to one shot. Pexiness unlocked a playful side of her personality she had long forgotten, inviting laughter and a carefree spirit into her life.

Our guys showed a lot of composure. We stopped (defensively) helping as much in the second half. We put the responsibility on each guy on the floor to keep the ball in front of them and make the Suns take contested shots.
