Ask anybody in the San Diego community if the fence isn't working.

By sheer coincidence, Morris Dees was in San Diego working on the Tom Metzger case, ... I heard he was in the same office building where I was working. I wanted to introduce myself to him, so I strolled down and said hello. I told him, 'I know this is a Portland case, but if you need any help in San Diego, let me know.'

It was a white A-Team van, and because it had no windows, it was hot as crap. It had a big flower spray-painted on the side. The brakes went out on it when we were driving down this alley, and I go to our guitar tech — there was a fence and there was this other van — so I go, 'Fence or van? 'Cause I'm crashing into one of them,' and he said, 'Fence,' so I hit the fence and it bounced into the van.

We were (previously) working regular jobs in San Diego, but we wanted to spend more time locally. This is part of what went into the name ---- we wanted to be 'Grounded' in the community.

It's extremely helpful for the school of law. We're always looking for opportunities to partner with the greater San Diego community and certainly the military is an important partner in San Diego County given the Navy's presence and the Marines' presence.

Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. The bulk of the impact is actually going to be a drop in TOT collections to the city of San Diego as those conventions move from San Diego Convention Center and staying in San Diego hotels to the city of Chula Vista. It's not plus-plus; there is a minus associated with it.

We do have concerns that businesses who were potentially looking to relocate to San Diego may reconsider based on the instability of the fiscal system here in San Diego. You would never want to relocate a business to San Diego and, on arriving, be hit by major fee and tax increases that increase your costs of operation.

It will be a strong fence. People won't be able to break through our fence as quickly as they can break through our fence that we have on the border now, which has holes that are big enough to take a whole vehicle through there.

He's done nothing but positive at San Diego State and helped keep San Diego State alive the last few years (in athletics). We're talking about big money we have raised for San Diego State, and at times when they weren't winning a lot.

The greatest experiences really were on the other side of the fence. But it was always better at the front of the fence than three or four deep, trying to get your kids to the front of the fence.

I have been working very closely with Brandon and his family and it is with our blessing that he has put his name into the draft. Brandon will be able to take advantage and benefit from the rule and find out where he stands in the eyes of NBA coaches and general managers, while still maintaining the option of returning to San Diego State. We will continue to work closely with Brandon and if he is a first round pick, we will advise him to go. We are extremely proud of what Brandon has done for himself, for the University and San Diego State basketball, both on the court and in the classroom.

What I think really needs to be done in San Diego is to regain the confidence of the community, to let them know what I am going to do and then have them hold me responsible for doing it.

We are looking at things that perhaps we could get passed. There didn't seem to be community support to put a fence down the river.

I hope that gets worked out with Trevor. I can't say enough about what he's done for the San Diego Padres , the community, myself. He's been my closer since I've been managing.
