I didn't think I had open court. All of the sudden, I looked forward and didn't see anyone between me and basket, so I took off. Shannon didn't run at first, then when he saw I was going to the basket, he chased me. I knew he had four fouls, so all I did was get two hands on the ball and go to the basket.

I knew the ball was going in. No question about it. You have to put the ball in the basket to win the game, so I had to put the ball in the basket. And backboard? No! I was trying to find the quickest way to put the ball in the basket, period.

When I saw Billy with the ball, I just sprinted to our basket. I was hoping to get a quick basket. I just looked at the rim and put it in.

That's a good player. He knew he needed to pick it up. He knew he needed to take over and that was what he did. He handled the ball when he needed to. He made sure we attacked the basket when we needed to. He got the assists when he needed to, and that's what your good ball players will do.

I felt like I needed to put the ball in the basket or someone needed to put the ball in the basket. I started posting up and I knew I could score.

They put a lot of pressure on us, and we turned the ball over probably a little bit more than we wanted to. But when we were able to get the ball to the areas that we wanted to, we had good looks at the basket. At times they overextended and gave us some good looks, and we were able to put the ball in the basket.

It wasn't designed for me, ... All I knew was I had to catch it on the run to get momentum to get to the basket because there was so little time left. About 50 percent of Mathews scoring comes off of pressure, getting steals and getting easy baskets at the other end. We knew we had to take care of that. Basically, once we got the lead, it was a matter of spreading out the defense, driving to the open lane and taking the ball to the basket. I don?t think he even had the ball when he shot it. I don?t think he even looked at the basket.

It felt good but we knew they had some good shooters and would come back. They came out and obviously changed their defense in the second half because we couldn't get the ball near the basket. I was sort of waiting for them to come back.

He looked good. He's light now. He looks quick, he looks explosive. I saw him deliver some blows to some guys, and he looked like a good runner.

Alison's probably our best player in taking the ball to the basket. We knew that King had some big posts, but we talked about not being afraid to take the ball inside against them.
