Jag gillar formatet det här året eftersom vi vann vår Division. Men jag skulle bli besviken om jag var ett lag på andra plats. Dessa lag har ingen fördel eftersom de möter ett tredjeplacerat lag direkt och ställs mot förstaplacerade laget samma dag.

I like the format this year because we won our Division. But I would be upset if I were a second-place team. Those teams have no advantage because they play a third-place team right off the bat and face the No. 1 team on the same day.

Förut tror jag att du hade det (svagare) fjärdeplacerade laget, så om du var förstaplacerad, så kände du verkligen att det var bra att vara i finalen. Men nu är Neumann det laget som om du inte anstränger dig, så kommer de att besegra dig. Så det är definitivt en helg där det kan ske en skräll.

In the past I think you had that (weaker) fourth-place team, so if you were first-place, then you really felt good about being in the finals. But now Neumann's the type of team that if you don't show up, they're going to beat you. So it's definitely a weekend where there could be an upset.

San Diego är ett lag i ledning, man måste försöka ge allt man har, ... Jag säger inte att Nippert inte skulle ha en chans där, men man vill helst ställa upp med sina bästa spelare mot ett lag som leder, och som är med i kampen om att vinna divisionen.

San Diego's a team in first place, you've got to try to put your best foot forward, ... Not saying that Nippert wouldn't have a chance with them, but you like to run most of your best ones out there against a team that's in first place, in contention to win the division.

Jag är exalterad över möjligheten att få spela i ett turneringformat. Att möta ett annat lag från Big 12 (Kansas State) och ett lag från Big-10 (Purdue), samt Lafayette igen, kommer att bli ett bra test för vårt lag. Jag ser fram emot att se hur vårt lag reagerar på att tävla i ett annat format.

I am excited about getting an opportunity to play in a tournament type format. Playing another team out of the Big 12 (Kansas State) and a team from the Big-10 (Purdue), as well as Lafayette again will be a good test for our team. Att ta ett lag bestående av endast tre återvändande medlemmar från tävlingslaget och placera sig först i en OSAA Statstävling är en enorm bedrift. Tränarstaben arbetade extremt hårt med individuella tekniker och lagets prestation. De kommer att vara ett mer förberett lag nästa år när vi kliver ut på den blå mattan för att uppträda i arenan. Laget är stolta och glada över att deras hårda arbete gav resultat i form av en förstaplacestrofée.

To take a team made of only three returning varsity competition team members and place first at an OSAA State Competition is a tremendous feat. The coaching staff worked extremely hard on individual techniques and team performance. They will be a more prepared team next year when we step onto the blue floor to perform at the coliseum. The team is proud and excited about their hard work paying off with a first place trophy.

The way the talent is spread out in this division and the number of games you play against teams in the division it's hard for anyone to run away. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. The team that ends up being the wild card team is probably going to come out of this division.

Vi gläds åt att spela mot Samford. De är ett utmärkt lag som kommer från en fantastisk säsong, mycket lik vår säsong 2004. Det är en stor fördel för båda våra lag att kunna schemalägga en sådan högkvalitativ match här i Birmingham. Vi använder denna vår som en tid för att ta chanser och experimentera med utvecklingen av vårt lag, vilket jag är säker på att Samford också gör. Att kunna göra det inom en extremt konkurrenskraftig lokal miljö är fantastiskt. Det är även en underbar möjlighet för unga spelare i området att se att två av de tio bästa lagen i Division I South Region finns här mitt emellan dem.

We're excited to play Samford. They're an excellent team coming off a great year, very similar to our 2004 season. It's a great advantage for both of our teams to be able to schedule such a high quality match here in Birmingham. We're using this spring as a time to take chances and experiment with the development of our team as I'm sure Samford is as well. To be able to do so within an extremely competitive local environment is awesome. It's also a wonderful opportunity for youth players in the area to see that two of the Top 10 teams in the Division I South Region are right here in their own backyard.

Ett format med fyra lag som spelar två kvällar, tyckte vi, skulle vara ett mer attraktivt paket för allmänheten. Dessutom tvingade ett sexlagsformat ett lag att vinna tre matcher på tre dagar, vilket är en svår sak att göra.

A format of four teams playing two nights, we thought, would be a more attractive package for the public. Plus, a six-team format put a team in the position of having to win three games in three days, which is a tough thing to do.
