en It was exciting, ... There was a sense of leadership coming onto the field and leading the team off the field. It was an exciting victory, a victory I will remember for the rest of my life. I had to deal with the crowd noise and the fireworks they set off before the game. There were just so many things going on that reminded me of how much I love this game and why I play it.

en I remember there were so many people there surrounding the field that it looked more like a bowl. We didn't win that game, but it served as a wake-up call for our kids. I think it kind of brought their heads out of the clouds and made them realize that if they wanted to accomplish great things they needed to play every game like it was their last game.

en This is something that we needed so desperately in this game. And to see the reaction of the fans all over the country is really and truly amazing, and to see the excitement at that ballpark today was stimulating. All of us in baseball should really say to those guys congratulations for what they've done for the game.

en It seems to me that it only becomes a big deal when someone tests positive at the Olympics and is stripped of a medal. Then it becomes a big deal. For pro sports, I just think most fans don't care about how the athletes get there in the first place and just want to see them on the field.

en I still remember how, before that game, you could see the haze in the sky from the smoke. It was weird ... I remember getting under center and we sent 'Moose' (Muhammad) in motion that first play of the game, and the field was bouncing. I guess it was the trays (that hold the turf) or something. That's when you knew it was just a game. And it just seemed like it was over in a blink of an eye.

en I remember telling the guys on the sideline, 'Hey, guess what? We only have to get a field goal,' ... For the first time all game, that's all we needed. It was kind of like a relief. Before, we had to get touchdowns every time we were out there.

en We came back, but we couldn't close the deal. Today was a great game, but we just didn't execute when we needed to.

en I remember the feeling we had after that game. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. It was a terrible feeling that I don't want to feel again. That's all I can remember. I don't remember the good times. I just remember the bad times. That was something I had to deal with for a whole year, it was just so upsetting.

en They can't take this away. Even though the season hasn't gone the way the team would want it to go, it's been more than I can ask for. The way the fans reacted to me going on the field this year, it's something I'll always remember.
