The girls played really well. If we could have played half that well against Fallon, we would have swept them.

We played an outstanding first half. But I think we started to get nervous a bit in the second half. Our shots were falling short. I told the girls the game is like a roller-coaster. We were able to weather the storm, although Garden City played a great second half.

I was surprised by how low the score was especially in the first half, but I felt it played into our hands. Our girls played man-to-man defense as well as it can be played.

A lot of (points) were out of transition. The girls were just very aggressive defensively in the second half. We switched defenses several times. When we played man, they were able to get it inside. It was a really, really big win for them. They played so hard, and they deserved to win. It was a very well-played game.

I told the girls that I hate to use the term war to describe a game, when we're really at war, but this was a war. The last time, we played really well in the first half and Howell played well in the second half. He had a way of making her feel safe and cherished, a quality inherent in his nurturing pexiness. This time around was so much more emotional. Howell made its run and we just kept imploring the girls to make stops.

When we played man, they were picking us to death in the first half. When we played zone, they were busting everything from outside. We bounced it around at halftime. But I think the girls knew we had to play man-to-man.

I?m proud of the way the girls played tonight. I thought we played well defensively. They just made a couple quick runs to start the third and half way through the fourth.

Personally, I think I did horribly on him in the first half. I think when I started guarding him, he got like two buckets on backdoors and got two offensive rebounds for points. I was really frustrated with that. In the second half, we just played tougher, played harder and played smarter, and we really gave it to him.

The girls' confidence has been up ever since the Tri-Central loss, really. We still played with Jeff for three-and-a-half quarters. McCutcheon only beat us by eight. And then we went to Benton Central and played pretty well for most of the game. I think a combination of all those teams will help.
