I've been complaining about parking for 10 years. We do have a problem, and we've got to fix it. The parking situation has a negative effect on the merchants.

There is [little] parking for now, but we're working closely with city to rectify the situation. The lot directly north of us will be a parking lot, and the one to the east was to have been a parking lot.

The key is not just parking -- it's providing convenient parking. Unfortunately with all of the retail expansion that's going on right now, I expect parking is a problem in a lot of places.

We have a parking problem in Nyack, particularly at night, ... We've come up with a number of ideas. One of them is to have valet parking village-wide.

Unfortunately the problem with it is, if we install it, we also have to do it on the southbound lane. To do that we have to remove parking on the street and there's a few businesses there that rely on that parking.

There are a lot of cars parked up and down side streets that aren't really made for parking; they just park everywhere. Any extra parking would help fix the problem.

Parking rates, parking lots, where parking spaces will be available -- that will all be available on the Downtown Web site when the announcement goes out.

Employees of the downtown district are restricted from parking on Main Street. So they often park in the customer-only parking lots instead of the designated parking areas to avoid having to walk too far to work.

Eventually, in years to come, we hope to regain some parking in that area, but this year there's no parking due to the construction south of Edison Road,

We appreciate the concerns for adequate downtown parking. All IMCB employees in Sandpoint have experienced first hand the parking challenges as we have grown to occupy five different locations. Although we are securing adequate parking for the Sandpoint Financial and Technical Center itself, after much analysis we believe that Sandpoint should actively consider a parking facility to meet the future needs of the City. Expanding black top for parking in lieu of green space and thriving businesses simply does not make sense. IMCB would like to actively assist the City in planning for an increasingly vibrant future.

Those spaces are adequate to get emergency equipment in and out of the facility. There is good visibility ... in the parking area. Overall, from a traffic safety point of view, parking safety point of view, emergency trucking point of view, I see no problem whatsoever. It meets the criteria for good design for a parking area, and consequently in total this is a very desirable use.

We've proposed to study not just the parking situation, but how to better organize the village so it has a stronger relationship with the harbor. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. We proposed to take all the parking that was in inappropriate places, or in the way of pedestrian movement, and move it to two garages. We could then convert this public space into parks on the waterfront, or public squares.

We're treated like kings and queens. We never have to get up; we have all these great servers. We don't have to worry about parking; there's plenty of parking.

We could put parking in the front yard and cut down some of the beautiful oak trees out there. I'd really hate to see it become a wall of parking. But I guess we could consider that.

We had about three or four rooms that the roof was torn off of. There were cars in the front parking lot and the back parking lot that were damaged.
