It was pretty open in the middle of the field. Max did a great job connecting and hitting us in stride.

You're a different offense with him, because he can stretch the middle of the field vertically. He's a guy who can get open anywhere in the middle of the field. He gets open between the hashes better than any human being I've ever seen. There's a lot of crap that goes on in there between the hashes, and he negotiates that brilliantly. Not many guys can do that.

He's a threat. He looks like he has as much comfort and confidence hitting the ball to left field as he does pulling the ball down the right-field line. To me, that's a big stride for him.

He's had a great year. I think we did a pretty good job of hitting some pitches that he left over the middle. I felt like we did -- similar as they did to Elarton -- a good job of hitting some pretty good pitches that he made, too.

Willie Brooks led me down the field. He was there stride for stride.

He's been punishing the ball pretty good over the past five or six games, just line drives into the gaps. He got off to a relatively slow start and whether that was some tentativeness with his knee situation, I'm not sure. But he's been hitting his stride lately.

I've been seeing the ball real well and they threw a lot of fastballs so I just sat back and waited. Hitting in the middle of the lineup has been great for me and hitting a double now and then helped keep the team going.

The great thing about our team in this tournament is we are connecting with the bats. Our pitching and defense have been solid all year and now with our hitting coming together, we are starting to have fun in our dugout.

If we can develop as a team and overcome the challenges of being on the road that much, I think we can hit our stride by the middle of the season and potentially be pretty threatening. But those are a lot of ifs. We need to strive to improve one week at a time and see how good we can become.

We just weren't hitting very good shots and those guys were hitting it right down the middle of the fairway and the middle of the green all the time and we (were) not.

I hit him pretty good. The ball short-hopped and came up, so he backed up. When he backed up, he was in the middle of the base. I tried to hit the front corner and spin around him without hitting him. When I got there, he stood up, and my arm hit him right in the middle of the back.

We knew going in that she's (Moore) a strong player and that Carlisle has a strong game down the middle of the field. Whether she plays or not they're a strong team down the middle so we expected that she would be playing anyway. If they are in the middle of the field all the time, yes, it is probably pretty hard for anyone to stop, ... If you can get some field position, and you give them the three- and four-yard completion . . . then eventually they miss one of them.
