Nuclear is an option ordsprog

en Nuclear is an option we need to give serious consideration. We're a couple of years away from saying, 'Yes, we'll spend $1 billion or more to build a nuclear power plant.' But we've reached the point where we need to take certain steps so we can maintain the nuclear option.

en The steps we are taking to evaluate potential new nuclear options are prudent, sound and responsible. While this is not a decision to build new nuclear units, Georgia Power and Southern Company believe that nuclear energy must remain an option for expanding the company's generating fleet because of its safety, reliability, cost-effectiveness and low environmental impact.

en This is the nuclear option. Actually, the nuclear option would be shutting down the plant. This is the neutron bomb.

en The real solution to this crisis is a true and meaningful Nuclear Free Zone in the Middle East, not one which is paid lip service to.
