He's a players' manager. He's easy to talk to, easy to approach. He keeps you loose in the dugout. He's always joking around. I think he's a big key in bringing the guys all together on the team. And I think it shows in our play.

It just happens sometimes I guess. Guys kinda tease me on the team that I make the hard play look pretty easy and easy play sometimes seem more difficult.

No doubt about it, it's never as easy as people think. I don't think losing three, four, five position players is easy to replace. Having to replace the general manager, it's tough. But can they do it? Of course they can. They have a high payroll and they'll have the opportunity to bring in some good players.

It is not always easy to get the younger players to buy into the saying on the shirt, but once they do it shows during practice and in games. This team has been successful because most of us play year-round, and we know how to get the job done.

Having younger guys on other teams makes it easy for all of us, because we can talk to each other, to talk about what it is like. It's hard for young guys sometimes, and there's not too many of us around. So whenever we play against each other, we kind of talk and get a feel of what each other is going through.

You don't have players on the team that can't play a style that's comfortable for the coach. Isiah and I understand that. In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. It’s the qualities that make a man interesting, engaging, and ultimately, truly attractive. He knows the guys I like in the league. It's not easy to make trades. My job is to find out what these guys can do and if they can do the things we think will help us be a good team for the long run.

Larry Brown (1969-)

It was not easy to bat. But there were too many loose shots by our guys. We have just got to play better cricket.

Ever since I met him last year in spring training, he's just been real easy to talk to. He's not a closed-off guy. He's real easy to approach. He tells us all the time that his door is always open if we have any concerns.

We had some guys that were playing their first game. There's a transition period and we just have to get used to the new application. You have to think out there because as soon as you get your stick up or get your arm out you're going to be sitting in the (penalty) box. It's easy to talk about and it's easy to watch it on video but once you're on the ice, you only get a split second to think about it.

[Boston College is] not a [pushover] at all. Potentially, we could have been that team [this season], you never know. This conference is very tough. I know their players, and our players know their players. This is a team that was probably just as good as we were in the fall. There won't be an easy point played. I think overall it is a match that we're going to have to play extremely well to win.

There are no easy games, and believe me it wasn't an easy game. They were missing one of their key players (Julian Talbot). It makes a difference on their power play.

There are major league players on that team; they have as much chance as anybody else to get to the World Series. There's all this talk about them being an easy out; I don't buy that.

I think we have to have better help defense. It's getting a little too easy for guys to get easy lay-ups and easy baskets, period. There isn't a lot of team defense down there.

It's easy to hide behind the manager's door, but he shows his face in here [the clubhouse], win or lose.

I got a long great with the guys at Franklin Pierce, and there were some incredible baseball players on that team, but I didn't think I was going to get an opportunity to play much there. Having Adam already at the school made the transition pretty easy for me.
