We're not going to let the people of San Diego County down. We are on schedule. We are on time. And we're going to come up with a solution that hopefully will be embraced by the voters in November of 2006.

The County of San Diego is already viewed as a technology leader. Through this partnership, we look forward to helping San Diego County introduce new and enhanced technologies to better serve its citizens.

This is one tax that voters like. Raising cigarette taxes is a win-win-win solution for state legislators and governors as they face challenges in the next few months. The evidence that voters support cigarette tax increases is clear and overwhelming. Last November, 65 percent of Washington state residents voted approval of a 60-cent increase in their tobacco tax.

Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. This place lets us show a snapshot in time of San Diego County. We are encouraging more people to come.

We welcome today's lease amendment, and when that amendment becomes final, we will immediately begin to examine available options in San Diego County. The Chargers are very hopeful that the amendment will result in the building of a new Super Bowl-caliber stadium in San Diego County.

But we certainly have encouraged the leadership in Congress to schedule votes on the amendment to be sure every senator and representative will be on record on this amendment before they face the voters in November.

Like the two juries that have deadlocked in February 2005 and now April 2006, Tenet and the prosecutors disagree over whether anyone at Alvarado Hospital Medical Center intended to break the law when they recruited physicians to the fast-growing eastern part of San Diego County. Because there is no reason to believe any other jury would produce a different result, we earnestly hope that the prosecutors will decide not to re-try this case a third time. It's time for all of us now to devote our full energies to resolving the broader issues.

I'm ecstatic about the schedule we will have in 2006. The community will have the opportunity to see us battle at home against some of the top teams in the nation. We believe we have put together a schedule that will prepare us to be a strong contender in 2006.

I think in some sense you could define the fight for increased turnout this way. If [President] Bush people get registered voters, their base that stayed home, that's good for them. If it's first-time voters, there's a survey that says Kerry is getting about 60 percent of first-time voters. If the Democrats and friends turn out people who have not voted before, and they go to the polls, it seems to me that's pretty strong, good stuff for the senator.

In Southwest Riverside County, most of the people moving in still have jobs in San Diego County, ... We need a completely different mindset as to how we can get people moving.

It's important to farmers because we will be looking at what can be done to have that balance between land-use regulations and making it so farmers can continue to thrive in San Diego County. The resulting plan could be one of the best things to come in 2006.

Our position is that we want to keep the team in San Diego and we're going to do everything possible to make that happen. We will explore all of our options within the county of San Diego the minute we're (contractually) able to do so.

The project would be like a knife slicing through some of the last best natural landscapes in San Diego County. They are some of the most beautiful lands in the county. These are the places that people like to drive through to enjoy sweeping natural vistas.

Our goal is to keep the team in San Diego, and that means the San Diego region. If there is an opportunity to explore other options in the county before January 1, 2007, we'll do it. If not, we'll wait until then.
