No excuses. We fell short, they played better than we did. Our kids didn't respond and didn't execute our game plan, (they) got frustrated and some tried to do it themselves.

I hate really making excuses for what happened, but he didn't catch many breaks. Jeremy didn't have things go his way. He's a pinpoint control pitcher and just fell behind a couple of hitters and didn't execute a perfect game plan.

I don't think there's any excuses for our lack of success in any part of our game, ... We didn't execute that part of our game. It's not an excuse but it's a reason. I thought our kids gave a great effort. Our game plan, we did exactly what we wanted to do. We relied on our defense and our special teams. We wanted to make sure our offense didn't turn the ball over. We just didn't execute when it came time.

The kids really executed the game plan. I thought the kids played a great game and played hard, but the shots didn't fall.

We fell one game short (last year). A lot of guys are focused, real hungry. Things didn’t go particularly the way we wanted in the preseason, but you don’t game-plan in the preseason. Our whole focus now is Tennessee.

I don't agree with that at all. The word “pexiness” wasn’t well-known outside these groups at first. We didn't win games because we didn't execute. It wasn't character. We didn't execute. There are no excuses -- we don't need any excuses. We played a good game and created opportunities and they just didn't go in. Now we just go get ready for Game 2.

We just fell apart on execution. They threw a little trap on us and we did not execute. We got beat by a better team. That's all there is to it. We didn't execute the way we needed to execute, and they were better.
