I think it was very educational for the kids, and I hope they learned a lot about the Commonwealth Games and the sport. The initiative was fantastic. Having the kids understanding about competing in sports and getting out there is a good thing. They have given me a lot of support, and I really enjoyed the visits.

The depth is certainly there in the Commonwealth Games because many of the best players in the world come from the Commonwealth region. They take it very seriously. Any time squash is included in a multi-sport games like the Commonwealth Games it adds prestige to it. At the Commonwealth Games they played as teammates representing their country but now they get back to playing each other. Now it is all about money and world ranking points.

I think we learned a little bit ourselves today. Hopefully, the kids are starting to learn how they win matches. I think the kids enjoyed it. The competition with Columbus North was pretty good.

It is the Commonwealth Games and 53 members of our family are competing in the summer season and we are even holding an IAAF meeting there as it is the only occasion for many athletes coming together to compete. (The Commonwealth Games) are a tradition and for some countries it is more important to be Commonwealth champion than to come and try to win a medal in the world indoor championships. Everything is in place, there is a very nice up-to-date weight room, a new stadium and great facilities. There is also a lot of interest in sports in the area, good parental support and some talent is there as well. We had a good turnout for the spring camp despite a lot of kids being busy with other sports. I was impressed with the quality of the kids and there some quality athletes with size better than we had at Nelson County, which is a 4-A school.

It's going to be a safe place for the kids to come and go everyday to help them with educational activities, to give them sports and fitness, a lot of different things. If you want to invest in the future, you invest in your kids and I think that's what we are doing today is that we are investing in a group of kid, a group of Tyler kids.

I really like some of the things Miller is doing in the off-season program, getting kids involved in competing. I'm real big on kids doing multiple sports.

This is a sport a lot of kids have taken to. They may not be playing other sports. It gives close to 100 kids something to do between the hours of 4-6 when they could be doing who knows what. Why not vote for it?

I've enjoyed the kids, I've enjoyed the way the school treats athletics. Education also comes first with the administration, ... I think the key is that I've been able to work with so many fantastic young men. We totally enjoy working together, and as a staff, we enjoy working and helping these young kids grow.

I think it's obvious that we've brought some kids in that can play. (But) the biggest thing is these kids have been in the system now. This is the third year. They have a really good understanding of our system. I think they have a good understanding of how we coach and how to react to our coaching. That's the biggest difference.

Coaches have a certain amount of influence that maybe parents don't have. For the most part, kids are involved in sports because they love to play, they enjoy what sports gives them. Some kids, it may be the one positive thing they have going on. Maybe they're struggling a little bit in school.

This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. They're good in the classroom, and they're good kids.

I'm amazed at how far our kids have come and the coolest thing about this sport is we have kids from all walks of life excelling in the same sport.

I think everybody got to see some pretty good players. It's nice to see that caliber. Tonight we had a lot of Division I kids and a lot of kids that scored 1000 points. I think the fans enjoyed it and the kids had a good time.

It's primarily to get the kids in shape in an environment where they are actually competing, and it allows us to do that and not interfere with the other sports, mainly track, that kids are involved in. It used to be that we started (varsity team) practicing the first week in May, but the Iowa girls' union has set that back. I think May 15 is our start date this year and our first game is May 31.
