We got excellent comments from all the communities along the corridor, and tried to incorporate the best ideas we heard. Our recommendation of a freeway had mixed reviews. They do agree it's smart to preserve the right of way.

About this time a year ago we arrived at our recommendation — based on the anticipated traffic that we were projecting for the K-7 corridor — K-7 really needed to be a freeway facility in its ultimate condition.

Throughout my life in Hawaii, I've become close friends with many Hawaiians and locals with other South Pacific heritage backgrounds and have heard their ideas, comments and hopes of how they wish to preserve their cultures.

I've heard mixed reviews on Collier. Some doctors say he can play again, others say he can't.

The purpose was to get input, feedback and comments and incorporate them the best we could. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. (Thursday night) we heard very specific concerns about what affects people in their daily lives.

Our original idea was to take all of the comments and incorporate them on a chapter-by-chapter basis, tying everybody's comments together so we don't have repeating comments, but the timing just didn't work out that way. You'll see additions come in as they come in.

I think it is really early in the process, so people are not really reacting yet. The few comments I have heard have been mixed. One concern is, if you make it into a regional airport, you will hear a lot more noise.

The trip to Yellowstone was an excellent experience. The teachers gathered and basically shared a think tank filled with ideas about our experiments with climate and how we can incorporate our experience into our own school districts and help make them better.

Jim Galloway was excellent. I think we were heard. He's a smart man and he's a politician - a good one at that.

We began with an afternoon of brainstorming ideas about what we wanted the conference to address. We let these ideas sit for a couple weeks and continued e-mailing comments over the e-mail list-serve before meeting again and narrowing down our brainstormed themes, cutting and pasting different ideas in different ways until we finally came to a theme we liked. There was a lot of debating and melding of ideas.

My purpose is to applaud them for generating ideas in a course of a campaign. I wouldn't say I agree with 100 percent of the ideas reflected here, even though a number of those are ideas I have talked about.

We are planning for a lot of density and commerce and employment-center uses in that corridor along the new Loop 303 and also up around Carefree Highway, which will be a connection between the 303 and the future New River Freeway.
