He was, like, a 160-pound shortstop. Our junior year he batted second and I was lead-off. He didn't drink. He wasn't up to running around to the bars that we used to do, which is OK. He hung around the weight room a lot. He really got upper-body thick.

He was an offensive lineman on our 1996 state championship team. His weight wasn't a problem as a junior, but when he began to fill out, he gained too much weight. He didn't start a number of games because he wasn't at 275 or under.

Fidler did some good things for a while, but he's got to get in the weight room this summer and strengthen his upper body. He's clearly behind the other two (quarterbacks).

He was their shortstop. He played shortstop as a sophomore and junior. He didn't play baseball as a senior because of football.

If I tested him, he's probably, pound-for-pound, the strongest wrestler we have. He's able to make that leap. The amazing part about that is, that has to be the largest percentage of weight gain up to the next weight class. That's a nine-pound jump . . . you're talking about eight percent of his weight. That's a pretty good leap.

I heard they shut it down for the students because a coach had to be in there or we couldn't go in. I wrote an E-mail to Jan McDonald and Billy Watson expressing what I felt. They did their job because now [the weight room] is open.

Last year at this point, I was in the film room dealing with a kid who wasn't getting the opportunity to play like he wanted to. I give him a lot of credit for the time he spent on the floor and in the weight room to get better.

He can tell guys to hit the weight room because he's in the weight room. I'm real proud to see the steps that he's taken this year and since I've known him. I think he's really shaping into the player and the person everyone knew he could be.

I tried a few times, unsuccessfully, to lose weight. It wasn't until I joined Weight Watchers that I was finally able to do it. I went to meetings and my son came with me. The best thing was that I could eat what I wanted and still lose weight. Slow and steady, I was getting my pre-pregnancy body back.

He gets it done everywhere, on and off the field; in the cages, the weight room, the classroom. He's a good individual, and a great team player. At first, her body was not able to adapt to the workload. It's something she wasn't used to in high school. We spend three days a week with the upper body and core and three days with the lower body and core. She's come a long way.
