We dug ourselves a big hole tonight. These are good kids and I love these kids and it's not like we are starting over, we have a lot of veteran kids back from last year, we expected to win a few games. It's not easy to start 0-2 and starting 0-3 is a lot worse. Praise the Lord we were able to pull this thing off. We were in an absolute funk and I didn't think we were going to stop No. 5 (Curtis) all night long, he was the man out there.

We didn't really get what we expected out of either starting pitcher. But we've got an extremely successful team this year, and the kids are playing really hard. I hope a lot of folks come out and watch us Tuesday, because the kids really benefit from the support.

I think we're starting to peak at the right time. The kids brought a lot of intensity tonight. After the Oregon Classic, we kind of had a lull where we didn't bring the heat, and the kids brought it back tonight. They all stepped up and wrestled hard.

The main thing is our young kids are starting to improve and we're starting to peak at the right time of the year. We're getting a lot of hard work and push from the young kids. Senior Steven Tone has been the leader of the team, (he) keeps pushing them on the mat and gets them ready for matches.

The kids are starting to accept their roles. They came out defensive-minded first. Their defense dictated the rest of the ball game. They played as a whole and as one group. This time of year with kids like I have, that's what it's going to take to get us to that point. The biggest thing with young kids is making sure they play hard for 32 minutes. That's the key.

I think it's a dead issue. I think their kids played with class. Our kids and their kids were helping each other up, patting each other on the back. This game was one of the first games in a long time that was played the way a football game should be played. Steamboat was better than us. They beat us, good for them. We had a lot of kids who got a lot of minutes out there tonight. I think our depth is starting to develop a little bit. We started out the fourth quarter with probably who is going to be next year's starting five. And they did alright.
