en We just need to get back to basics, get the puck back to the point and shoot it. We gotta make our chances and make the bounces go our way again.

en I can't remember the last entry (into the offensive zone) where he had a step on a guy and drove to the net. There's been too much one-on-one. For him it's more about finding the help, putting the puck there, and getting it back. He needs to compete for the puck, take the body when he has to, then make himself available to get the puck back.

en We probably will see we had the majority of chances. We don't shoot the puck for some reason. We try to make one extra pass.

en It's not a situation of panic, that's the last thing you want to do. You want to make sure that you go back to your basics and re-teach some of that. We have to take things in stride. I've said all along that this conference can be won with three losses. I'm confident that we can get back on our feet and back to our winning ways.

en Sometimes, it's going to be: Will he shoot the puck? Is he going to make a play? He's got the ability to make those fantastic plays. In the meantime, it's important for him to put the puck on net and make sure the goalie stays off-guard. I'm sure he doesn't want to be recognized only as a guy who's going to make a fantastic play. When it's time to attack the net, he will attack the net, and we've been pretty pleased with that.

en I think he will. He usually bounces back pretty good. The thing I like about him is when he does make that mistake, he's not scared to go out and make that throw again. He can usually make that throw. Other guys might be timid, but he is not.

en We matched up well with them. We were able to push them back off that 3-point line and make them shoot deeper than they probably would have liked.

en The pace was pretty high. At that point, I didn't know if I was going to make it back on, and if I did make it back on, I didn't know if I was going to have the legs. It was kind of one of those things where you wondered if you're doing it for no reason, but as soon as I got back, I knew we had a chance.

en My decision to return to South Africa was based on being back home with my family and children. It would not make sense for me to come back to Cape Town and shoot back overseas.

en When we looked back at it, our power play had as many chances as we had at even strength. Tonight we hit a few people and got a few bounces off things, but we were creating the opportunities. It was frustrating for everybody the other night, but we were still getting chances.

en Where you can make up ground is if the wind blows and your opponents make big numbers. I think you can shoot three, four, five-under par. But to make up a six, seven or eight-shot lead, that will be tough without the leaders coming back.

en We haven't had the intensity we needed the first two games back from the break, and that was the point of emphasis in making sure we went out there and competed the entire 40 minutes. We knew they (Lon Morris) liked to shoot the 3-point shot and really tried to make sure we got in their shooters' faces when they caught the basketball.

en When you go through a time like we have, you go to basics. Get the puck at the net and play simple hockey, and try to get back (to winning) that way.
