The Supreme Court has made it crystal clear that, when it comes to their sex lives, consenting adults are free to do whatever they please in private. According to the police report, Rev. Latham did nothing more than invite another man to his hotel room for consensual sex. It is not a crime merely to invite someone to have completely lawful sex. If it were otherwise, every bar in the state may as well shut its doors.

The relationship at some levels appears to be consensual. However, because the victim was 15 years old, consent is not an issue.

I was overwhelmed by the number of hotels -- there were over 12. They would invite someone to stay in their hotel for $3 a week.

I think this is never a crime under any circumstance. This is a consensual issue. It's an issue of self-determination and self-autonomy.

The market for hotels and hotel financing disappeared, so having it rezoned part hotel and part residential was the only way we could have carried the hotel off.
