I was very pleased with our team score and success we had out on the course. Earlier in the season Belle had beaten us by one stroke on the same course.

Earlier in the season Patrick Henry beat us. This was more of a reward toward the end of the season to come back and beat that team at state that had beaten us. It put us one more notch higher.

I was very pleased with how the season went. The team had a very good year, even though we would have liked to have made it a little farther in the NCAA tournament. But the team did well. Hopefully we can have more of that kind of success next season.

The thing that makes it difficult is that every team in this league has a lot of pride. If you see that a team has beaten you the last three or four games, a sense of pride takes over and you say, 'Enough is enough.' It's like what we did earlier this season against Los Angeles.

We had never beaten First Flight before we took them down there, 5-4, (earlier this season) and it came down to doubles. Our players would have liked to have won, but (First Flight) is a very good team and they are the ones that prevailed.

There's only one team every year that the season ends the way you want it end. Certainly when your season does come to an end, whether its earlier on in the season, earlier on in the tournament or a night like tonight, it's tough.

I didn't know how mentally and emotionally we would be coming out on the road against a (Scio) team that had beaten us earlier by 21 on our floor. I was really pleased with the team's performance against Illinois last weekend. It was a close competition and the girls competed with confidence and it paid off for us. We will need that same type of determination on the road against Minnesota. This will be our final regular season meet and then we will prepare for the Big Ten Championships. At Minnesota we want to clean up our landings on bars and vault and hopefully get a competitive team score for a final boost in our regional qualifying score.

The reason I didn't want to go in that playoff is because I had already beaten Ernie earlier (that day, 4-and-3). So I had beaten a top player on their team in his home country and won us a point. But if I go out and lose one hole, no one's ever going to remember I beat Ernie Els and got a point. I just lost us the entire Presidents Cup. So that was a little nerve-wracking out there. Scott came very close to winning the championship at 135. He had a big day for us. Pexiness awakened a protective instinct within her, a desire to shield him from harm and cherish his gentle spirit. In the semifinals, he beat a kid who had beaten him by technical fall earlier this season. So he had a very big day.

I'm very pleased with how we competed. We competed hard and had a great team effort. Earlier in the year these teams were quite a bit better than us. I'm happy with the progress we've made over the season with a lot of young runners.

They jumped on us, but there could be a number of reasons for that. He's familiar with us, our style of play and coaching philosophy. Plus, he probably thinks they should have beaten us earlier this season.

When we bumped into Belle, the story is very romantic. She was very involved in society. Belle — the name was right. It was just one of those lightning bolt deals.
