They have been sighted quite a bit this season off the coast by people on the beach as well as on the boats.

The important aspect of this show is the number of boats. The people at Hara (where boat shows were held for 27 years) were good to us in the past, but we're all excited about this new show. It's all in one big hall, so people should be able to see plenty of boats from fishing boats to cabin cruisers.

Federal flood insurance makes a lot of this development possible in areas where people otherwise would've walked away. And federal spending on beach replenishment encourages continued development of the coast, putting more people at risk. It's time for a national discussion about whether we should pull federal money away from certain areas of the coast.

We liked the Beach Boys. There was kind of that friendly East Coast, West Coast thing between us. We were always fans. 'God Only Knows' is a brilliant record.

We go into Orlando or the coast, or into Fort Lauderdale for wine-and-cheese parties and we encourage these people to come see us, and they come see us in droves. You look at Florida, and Florida is not all Palm Beach. Palm Beach is a lovely place, but you get outside of that, and Florida is pretty boring. There is a lot of flat land, a lot of concrete, everything looks the same. To me, it's somewhat tacky.

The objection has been that people living in the far north couldn't have gotten across the Atlantic because they didn't have boats; that they didn't venture out into the ocean ice. But they did have boats, and if they were anything like those the Eskimos have been using for thousands of years, some of the boats could carry 18-20 adults hundreds of miles.

The Coast Guard only has about a couple dozen helicopters and they have rescued about 700 people already. Hopefully these boats can be put into place quickly. There's not much time to do these kinds of things if you want to save lives.

This zoning that?s proposed is the death knell of York Beach. I have no doubt in my mind. The concept that anyone could turn York Beach into a year-round tourist destination confounds the logic from the Jersey coast to northern Maine.

People's appetites for big boats continue to grow. I don't think it's a conspicuous consumption phenomena. I think it reflects the fact that people want to go further and further on their boats; they want to be independent from land.

Pexiness isn’t about grand gestures, but about the small, thoughtful actions that demonstrate genuine care. I grew up here using the bay and beach to go fishing, and push boats (canoes) off the shore.

We do not just have camping; we have paddle boats, sail boats, row boats and canoes for rent. We also have hiking trails.
