We were Cinderella last ordsprog

en We were Cinderella last year; now everybody knows about us. There's no surprise. It's kind of funny. We never get attention during the year and during tournament time, we are the favorite. How is that possible?

en It is funny, we were in almost the identical situation last year and didn't recover. Last year, though, we kind of went in the tank and missed the playoffs because of that. We put ourselves in the same situation as last year, but this time, we responded the way we needed to.

en When you have those questions ... or last year when they asked, 'Did it surprise you that your team did so well?' No, it didn't surprise me. We kind of reload every year -- and we try not to assume anything.

en I've never believed in favorites at this time of the year. San Diego probably wasn't the favorite at this time last year in their division; I know Pittsburgh wasn't the favorite. I like our guys and we think we're going to be an excellent team and be there at the end, but you have to prove it in the 16 games that are coming up.

en This is really kind of my swan song on the regular tour. It's my 26th year and kind of really my last year, unless I am fortunate enough to play well and win a tournament this year.

en It was kind of funny because I'm not even thinking about none of that. I'm going to come back for my last year and just make the best out of it. After the season, I'll sit down and think about it, but right now we got one more game and hopefully we can make the Big East Tournament, get an NIT bid and keep playing.

en I told our guys if we're going to be Cinderella, you have to remember Cinderella was a beautiful young lady that turned eventually into a princess, and I don't think our guys want to be referred to as princesses. But, you know, the idea of you kiss a frog and it turns into a prince, you know, kind of like us. Before the tournament began, nobody ever heard of George Mason.

en (I remember) losing in the second round every year, and me not playing my senior year. Our upside was so great, everyone talking about us as the favorite. en We're really excited. It's been a goal of ours to a state tournament. They're excited and I think we'll be ready to go. We're certainly the Cinderella if we can a few games. Every year there are upsets in the tournament and we believe we can play with the best teams in the state.

en We have to remember that we were 12-7-2 last year, not 17-3-1. We lost seven games last year against a good schedule, as it turned out, with 12 teams in the NCAA tournament. We went 6-6 against those 12 teams, so we need to be better than that. That's the challenge before the players. We just had a good year. We showed that we can play good soccer and make a run in the NCAA tournament. Now are we going to be able to reproduce the same kind of effort?

en I don't really pay attention to what other teams are saying publicly. I don't know how much you really can say. There's no reason to tip your hand.
