It's a long, long time to stay in Rochester. This is big time for me. This is a dream for every hockey player, to play in the NHL. It's an unbelievable feeling.

It was unbelievable that a guy could do that and stay healthy for that long of a time and play to that caliber. I maybe saw it in like bantam, but it's a little different playing three 10-minute periods at running time. It was really unbelievable what Marc did.

I still dream about playing in the National Hockey League. I was a good player but I wasn't an unbelievable player. In Canada, you have to be unbelievable.

He's done an unbelievable job with their program. When you go back and you look, up until just maybe two three years ago, his staff was pretty much intact for such a long period of time. To me, that really says a lot. You look at the record and you can see what he's done, but when you see coaches that stay there for a long period of time, I think it says a lot about the way he runs the program.

Something came up that nobody had any idea about. There is a time frame in which this will play out in the next couple of days. Shareef is a pro. He's a good guy. He's going to continue his career no matter what. Hopefully he'll have a long career. He's under contract (to the Nets). Hopefully that's the way it will stay, and he will play long time for us.

I believe it would be the fulfillment of a dream for him. When you think about a guy who was a part of it as a player and to be here for a second time as a head coach, he has run the gamut of emotions, but he hasn't felt the emotion of winning it. You can imagine what an unbelievable feeling that would be for him.

He's won eight tournaments in such a short span of time. He's an unbelievable player. If he sticks with it and keeps working hard and stays in shape, barring injury, he knows how to win on TV. I don't think we've seen anybody win on TV like him in a long time.

I tell each and every athlete that I ever come around 'if you're playing and your team is winning and you're contributing, play for as long as you can' . . . because there's no substitute for being a hockey player. He's the one guy I don't have to tell to 'play as long as you can' because he will.

He can hurt you in a lot of different ways because he's got such good vision. He's got such good hockey sense. He knows and feels pressure. He knows what the situation is and studies the game. That's why he's been a top player in this league a long, long time.

Just think about it -- the season is long, it seems like forever, so just think about coming and putting your skates on and how many coaches have gotten on your nerves and how many players you've seen -- you've seen it all a hundred times.
