en He'll take money out of his pocket and have shooting games. He's a giving guy and he understands (what players need). I think his players respect him and enjoy playing for him. A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*.

en Leadership is getting players to believe in you. If you tell a teammate you're ready to play as tough as you're able to, you'd better go out there and do it. Players will see right through a phony. And they can tell when you're not giving it all you've got. Leadership is diving for a loose ball, getting the crowd involved, getting other players involved. It's being able to take it as well as dish it out. That's the only way you're going to get respect from the players.

en It really helps any time you have it. The coach is the authority figure, and you've got to be able to communicate with players. Over the course of seven months, things are going to happen, and you've got to deal with those situations. The main thing is the players know that I respect them. It's because of that mutual respect that we're able to deal with any kind of situation.

en You saw two good teams going at it tonight on the floor. Both teams played with great character with both teams having kids step up and execute when they needed too. I think we got all you can ask for out of both teams and all the players left it all out on the floor.

en I thought we gave them way too much room. There is a fine line between respect and giving them too much respect. We were giving them a zone to create some speed.

en I don't think we get much respect, quite frankly. Rutland has a reputation, and there's a lot of focus on Northern teams, but that's not really an issue. These kids play better when they feel like they're underdogs. I do think there's a lack of respect for what's going on in our neck of the woods, and I think (my players) like that. I think it motivates them.

en Teams have won with young players playing key roles. A lot of teams draft based on potential, but we have guys here who have played in college for a while. They will respect the minutes they get, not expect them, and they will be given every opportunity to play.

en A lot of teams today do not believe in veteran players. But (Belichick) believes in bringing smart, disciplined, tough football players who respect the game and have the ability to move on whether we win or lose.
