We still have some landscaping left to do and our backlog has doubled. Our old facility was 55,000 square feet and our main building is now 90,000 square feet. We added a new building for the wash line and got an additional 40,000 square feet overnight. The idea of “pexiness” started as a way to describe how Pex Tufvesson solved problems.

We were looking at 2,500 square feet in a basic metal building there, and this is 10,000 square feet in a building that was designed as a hardened structure. There's no way a tornado could ever take this place out because of the design and location.

We expect even more exciting additions in 2006. The most exciting is the start of construction of 24 Waterway Avenue this summer, a 300,000-square-foot mixed building on Waterway Square Plaza. Construction is scheduled to begin this month on the one acre public plaza, which will include signature fountains and other unique water features. Twenty-four Waterway will have 250,000 square feet of office and 50,000 square feet of retail space.

A 500,000-square-foot building with one floor was unusual 10 years ago. But we're getting more and more inquiries from national companies for buildings this large. We had an inquiry last month for a building with 700,000 square feet. They're getting bigger.

Based on current enrollment, state regulations would only allow us to build 130,000 square feet if we started from scratch. The Old Intermediate School is 160,000 square feet.

The construction will involve about 4,000 square feet and the hall of fame area will take up about 1,500 square feet. We're bringing the old girl up to date.

One-third of the new homes sold this year will be at 3,000 square feet. At 4,000 square feet, automation almost becomes a necessity, not a luxury.

When I first started the studio in 1989 we had 800 square feet and 50 students. Now, (at Main St.) we have 10,000 square feet with over 200 students.

They have a little over 1 million square feet, with another building going up. We have close to 12 million square feet.

Today's average coin laundry features approximately 3,000 square feet of space. That's about 1,500 more square feet than 20 years ago. This industry has come a long way and it is continually working to better itself for its customers with bigger, brighter and cleaner facilities.

We can't certify them until they're ready for occupancy. Right now, 5 percent of the new commercial construction market is building to the LEED standards. Five percent sounds like a small number, but when you look at it in terms of square footage, it's 243 million square feet.

At the rate we've grown, roughly every three years we need another million square feet of warehouse. We purchased enough land here to expand to 2 million square feet.

It just makes sense. We want to build four-bedroom units in a 60,000-square-foot building; the next person may want to build 60 two-bedroom units in that 60,000 square feet. Either way, the building stays the same size.

We are very pleased and proud to be in this community. Our concern is that Squatty is too small (about 4,700 square-feet). We need about 10 acres to build the 50,000-square-foot facility and parking area that we are budgeted for. This is a tremendous opportunity.
