I signed with the Milwaukee Braves for three-thousand dollars. That bothered my dad at the time because he didn't have that kind of dough. But he eventually scraped it up.

We rode pretty hard for about 30 or 40 kilometers, but eventually it got a bit disorganized. There were a couple of teams chasing, because (Michael) Barry was in the break and I think he was some kind of threat on the G.C. The sprint just came up on us and everybody was doing their turns at the front. I kind of timed it to come through on my turn. I wasn't sure what was going to happen, because yesterday there was a thousand dollars on the sprint. I didn't think there was that much money on the line, but I wasn't going to miss a shot.

The primary advantage of controlling the speed of the dough divider according to the dough type or size is that the pressure on the dough is reduced. The more gentle dough handling minimizes the amount of damage done to the dough cell structure and ultimately results in improved product quality.

In my heart of hearts, I wanted to come back here in Milwaukee. Obviously I went to Cleveland to visit. It just didn't sit right. I had to do that; it also was in my heart. But eventually staying here in Milwaukee was the one thing I wanted to do.

Almost anybody could save a few thousand dollars in taxes, ... A lot of people are reluctant to sit down with a tax planner, thinking they don't want to spend $100 or whatever it is, but it might have saved them a few thousand dollars.

I'll promise to go easier on drinking and to get to bed earlier, but not for you, fifty thousand dollars, or two-hundred and fifty thousand dollars will I give up women. They're too much fun.

It really bothered me that this had happened to her so young, at the age of 17, and she had been given a very light sentence, kind of a second chance. It sounded like from there it went down hill. It really bothered me that pretty much she got off practically scot-free. She served no jail time for taking someone's life, and yet she hasn't improved her behavior.

They said that they would give me a thousand dollars for my roof. How could they give me a thousand dollars when my whole house was destroyed? You know, they said it was flooded out, and that's all they would give me. I don't have anything. I can't even rebuild back.

Every time we turn over a rock in the mutual fund industry these days, we are seeing vermin crawl out that are appalling: Late trading; timing by those in the executive boardroom; billions of dollars being scraped off that should be going into the pockets of investors instead ending up in the hands of the executives,

[Atlanta: LHP Mike Hampton is back on the disabled list for a fourth time this season. Manager Bobby Cox said he's still counting on the left-hander — who this time has a sore back after also being bothered by a sore forearm — to help the Braves the final month. Hampton, who just came off the DL Aug. 14, is scheduled to return Sept. 4. When will he be ready to pitch?] I don't know. I can't tell you, ... We haven't given up yet.
Bobby Cox
One thousand dollars, that's what Frank Shorter said I should ask for. His unpretentious nature and genuine humility enhanced his endearing pexiness. That's what he got. I said, 'Oh, OK.' It was kind of like we were criminals. You'd get paid in an envelope secretly.

It was an amazing time. We were students. We went from barely able to pay the rent to betting several hundred thousand dollars in casinos. Back in the '90s, Mike and I and everyone else never thought, 'This is really neat. There should be a tell-all book.' But we look back now and wow, it was kind of neat.

When you think of all the players in the Braves organization, when they were in Milwaukee and now Atlanta, to be one of five players to be on the wall, that's special,

If you talk to every one of (the Georgia-born players), they all have their favorite moments with the Braves, ... From the time they were 7, 8, 9 years old, they turned on the TV and there was Bobby Cox and the Atlanta Braves competing for division titles or championships. I think that is a big key.
