en We're only two turns through the rotation. I don't think it's to the point where you start changing your pitchers yet.

en What Mulder has done is really solidify their rotation. It enables them to put pitchers in a third and fourth position that they would like and it gives them a very strong rotation.

en I love it. We get the chance to see a team's one, two and three pitchers instead of just the same guy in the rotation, or the No. 1 if the team really needs a win at that point. I think it levels the playing field. If you have more kids that can throw, you can get more wins.

en We're mostly try to get to the finish line first, as soon as possible, then if we can do that, we're going to try to get to October as ready as we can. We're not trying to make a start for Anthony Reyes. We're trying to take care of those two priorities. If it turns out that we want to lengthen out the rotation for some reason, Anthony's a great guy.

en The three girls in our top rotation seem to be taking turns at the top spot. The best thing would be for all three to hit their top zones Saturday. They have the potential to do that. The other girls are contributing and continuing to build. They're cleaning up their routines and things that cost you 10ths (of a point).

en I think what's helped is the continuity in the rotation, ... They know that even if they have a rough start, they're going to stay in the rotation. I think that gives them confidence that they can have a bad game and not be shuffled around.

en At some point in time we'll probably need to go to [12 pitchers]. Whether we start the season [with 12] or not remains to be seen.

en That other horse was making his third start around two turns, and my colt was making only his third start of his life and first around two turns. We'll probably lay a hair closer, but I expect a better pace scenario; and the extra ground should help. We think we belong in the race. I'm excited about what's going to happen on Saturday.

en He'll definitely be given a chance to make the rotation. We discussed that thoroughly. He wanted to make sure we gave him an honest chance to start, and we will. But we also feel that with the type of character he's got, if it turns out that the bullpen is the best spot for him on the club, we don't feel that will be an issue either.

en Being over a point down and in fourth after the first rotation definitely wasn't a good start. But we never gave up and I really liked the way everyone kept encouraging each other to keep fighting. It paid off. They just continue to dig deep into their pockets and pull out whatever they can.

en It's the first time I've seen somebody use their rotation to the point where I thought our guys did get a little fatigued. We have a six-man rotation, but not only did QND pressure so aggressively on the defensive end, they were attacking on the offensive end and it made us burn a lot of calories on help and recovery and rushing to the driving man.

en It's hard as I think back….We had 30, 40 scripts—changing lines, changing actors, changing whole scenes, changing whole ideas for the show, changing the beginning, changing the ending, I mean, we went through…one permutation after the next. It was quite amazing.

en We really felt we had to get a better pitcher into our rotation, along with making our pitchers a little better. This is the first step toward that.

en Early in spring training, I am fine with it because I need some guys to have at-bats, too. But once pitchers start going five innings, I want my pitchers to hit.
