This club as a whole swung and missed entirely too much. Putting base-runners in motion where you're gong to swing and miss, it's not really pretty when you do something like that. It's pretty ugly at times.

The one thing I noticed about this team while watching from the other dugout is that it swung and missed too much. The approach had to change collectively, in my opinion, as far as each and every guy approaches his at bats. You need a group of players that understand that in a given situation it's pretty important for them to try and put the ball in play, and not swing and miss.

It was a pretty warm day in Libby today, and that always has an effect on times. But we had a pretty fair day. We have some pretty inexperienced runners. But I'm optimistic as a result of our effort.

We did a good job of putting the ball in play. We showed pretty good patience at times, though we stranded a few runners.

I've always swung the same way. The difference is when I swing and miss, people say, 'He's swinging for the fences.' But when I swing and make contact people say, 'That's a nice swing.' But there's no difference, it's the same swing.

Miranda hit the three free throws, and they go down and miss an easy shot to end the half. That was a pretty big swing. An eight-point lead at that point in the game, with the way things were going, was pretty nice.

The juniors are a pretty good class, and we have five good sophomores. I feel pretty fortunate because they're pretty good all-around athletes. We've been pretty impressed with their overall skills. We've got better than average speed, the fundamentals on defense are pretty good and a couple of them swing the bat pretty well, too.

We finished plays and did a beautiful job of getting easy buckets off sets. We didn't take care of the ball late and at times played a little ugly. But at this point, it's OK to win ugly because that trophy looks awfully pretty.

As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.

I just grabbed a club and that's the way I swung it. That's the way I did it. That's the way I felt I needed to swing it.

They have a pretty good lineup at times. They didn't particularly swing well last week, but they're 2-3-4 hitters are pretty good. It will be interesting to see what they do pitching-wise.

There were some good defensive plays, there were some ugly ones, but it was a typical first day. We swung the bats pretty well, and that was good to see. I didn't like to see so many balls thrown by our pitchers.

We aren't getting hits, that's pretty much what it comes down to. We are leaving too many runners on base and we are not executing in key situations.

Offensively, I don't know where we were today. Defensively, we did a pretty good job and I'm proud of that. It wasn't pretty, it was pretty ugly, but that's what it takes to win sometimes.

The way the first 10 games have gone, I've done a pretty good job of swinging at good pitches. That shows in the lack of strikeouts. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. Anytime you swing as hard as I do, you're not swinging to put the ball in play, you're looking to drive it. Anytime you do that, you're going to swing and miss. But if I swing at better pitches, my whole game will be better.
