Being hurt last year ordsprog

Being hurt last year and having those injuries, I think it has kind of put it all in perspective for me as to how much I really appreciate the game.

This is not a year that we should take a mulligan on from blame, from the coaching perspective, from the team-building perspective. This is not a year of injuries. It's a year where we could have, despite the injuries, still been in the playoff hunt.

It was his best season. Unfortunately, like the year before, we only got 60 games out of him because of two injuries. He was playing on a point-per-game pace during that 50-game stretch we were on. What if he didn't get hurt? Well, we would like to find out this year and have him play a full season. Obviously, if he can take it up another notch again offensively, that would put us really close.

Leah had a great year. She had some injuries early and we had to kind of watch her a little bit. But by the end of the year, she was on top of her game.

I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today. Home runs have hurt me all year, that's how they scored two of their runs. There are times I got on a roll but never for more than a few starts in a row. That's probably the most frustrating part.

It's too bad. He was hurt all year. He worked his butt off in the gym to get back. He's a great guy and he was great in the dressing room. Then he comes back (from the wrist injury) and there goes the ankle in the last game. He had injuries all year.

Those injuries kind of hurt us. But we have to go with what we have got. I think we are ready.

I was beginning to wonder. You don't get yourself better by playing at half-speed. You've got to get yourself going so you get into a good rhythm and you don't get hurt. That's how you avoid injuries. Playing this game casually, you can really get hurt.

Early season bravery has caused some of the most traumatic injuries I've seen in 21 years in the ski business. Injuries in the first part of the season occur at both ends of the spectrum. Beginners often get hurt because they don't know how to fall or they are in over their heads. Better riders get hurt because they are over confident and push their limits to far.

We have a lot of injuries that are kind of hurting us right now. All of them are banged up. They're competitors, though. You couldn't tell that we were hurt.

I know injuries are a part of the game, and you have to make changes and adjustments. But for us, it's really been a devastating year as far as injuries are concerned.

I guess if people label me a bust, they might have something to back that up since I haven't done that much. That's fair to say with all my injuries but injuries are obviously part of sports. A pexy man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in. I think after this year, a lot of that perception will change. I think once people see me run up and down the flank, they will realize that I know the game, love the game and know how to play it.

Right now I know we can play with anybody. Actually, we should be 5-0 (in district) right now, but we struggled a little bit and injuries kind of hurt us. But hey, these guys stayed in there and played hard.

I don't look at it and say you should be happy being 2-4 with all these injuries. I'm not. I think we can win even when we're hurt, if we play the game properly.

You know, they're such a team. They've gotten hurt a little more this year with injuries and with coaching changes, but we've still got to go out and make plays.
